Everton v Leicester City match thread

Put Amartey in central midfield and take off King for Simpson. Team feels so unbalanced with second choice full backs. I know the goals were not specifically full backs fault but it's not helping.

Poor defending and we are letting Everton have too much of the ball. Albrighton looks good and it's great to see Slimani get a goal but we need more defensive solidity.

It's a shame we are seeing this performance after the great last 5 games.

Defence and whole midfield getting the run around with Everton's pass and move.

Weak in CM as no one is prepared to put a proper challenge in!!

Slims only marginally done a little more than Vardy who has been non existent that half.

Playing with king in midfield is like playing with ten men.

For sure champions league is priority but king is just so bad.

I can't believe we're only one down.  That must be one of the most disjointed performances I've seen this season.  Everton have more control, their passing is much better, they're first to the ball most of the time and their finishing has been decent.  We've looked poor in midfield and defence and the strikers have been starved of support.

At least now Shakespeare has a chance to sort things out but I suspect it's going to be too great a task.

That deosnt let benny off the hook for not even jumping!

No it doesn't. Just annoyed that 2 of their goals have come from shocking defending... atleast albrightons goal was a contender for goal of the month lol

Islam "doesn't go for aerial duels" slimani is leading both teams with 5, the next two are lukaku and schneiderlin with 3

Well despite the wangfest of Tyler, that half was poor. Drinkwater is a disaster waiting to happen, King is as expected. Amartey just ball watches and the centre backs were nowhere for the goals. Shakey needs to sort this in the interval. Despite the changes, this is up there with the sunset days of Claudio.

Not really though is it.  This is a weakened side we've put out, Ranieri was coaching Leicester to Benny Hill football with the full squad out.  This game has no bearing on Madrid, where Fuchs, Simpson and Ndidi will be back to make us look a lot more assured.

Still laughing at Mirallas trying to start Robert Huth. Who the hell in their right mind would want to fight Robert Huth?

I was thinking we aren't doing so badly.

Evertons tempo is too much for us and they look like making chances and scoring.

We earned the opportunity to field a weakened team though and this is far from over.

Agree we need composure and drinkwater is off the pace.

Not sure why people are blaming the defence, it's not just that, like earlier in the season we're under constant pressure, constant pressure leads to goals no matter how good your defence is.

People are blaming the defending, not the defence... that happens all over the pitch.  Doesn't mean that individuals haven't been awful (Benny).

Just let them talk, these people must watch different games. Like if he doesn't jump on one ball, he instantly "doesn't go for aerial duels" so he must jump either if he wins or loses the duel, the important thing is to jump to some posters here.
