Jakupovic (Hull GK)

I've been very impressed with him this season, Mahrez's goal aside. Him and Lee Grant have been class given they're very unfashionable ala Pickford etc.

I'd hope we would aim higher if Schmeichel were to leave. Not too sure about this guy.

What if Schmeichel stays and Zieler leaves?

Although the problem with our goalkeeping situation is that no matter whom comes in or stays (not necessarily Zieler's fault :D), it's going to be a massive task to get past Kasper in the near future.

He may even improve and reach his peak in four to six years' time or so.

Whomever is No.2 is likely to stay on the bench for a while in that case - unless given opportunities in cup competitions.

Schmeichel is 30. Goal keepers decline at different fimes. Buffon at 39 is still class whereas Cech at 34 is poor. Casillas at 32 was a complete liability.

Fingers crossed Kasper will still be brilliant at 35+.

He would be a step up from Zieler as back up, but not as a replacement for Schmeichel if he does go....either way I hope were aiming higher, even for a number 2...likelihood is we will need a number 3 too, isn't Hamer's contract up?

Seems to have let in a few poor shots, not least the efforts from Fuchs and Mahrez that he was weakly beaten with at the KP a few weeks ago.

Never really rated him and me mate who is a STH at Hull used to tell me how bad he was, but I'm under the impression he has improved this season.

A strange link.

Obviously not as good as Kasper and if Kasper left in the summer we'd want a much better keeper.

If Zieler left this summer then Jakupovic wouldn't want to come here as reserve GK.

If Zieler leaves his replacement needs to be ready to be No2, we're not going to be signing someone as a No2 who'll replace Kasper anytime soon.

We were linked with Dragowski last season who was a teenager with a lot of potential. He went to Fiorentina in the end but someone of that type of profile would be good. We're not going to be in Europe next season so our No2 will only play if Kasper is injured or possibly in the early rounds of cup competitions. I always thought Zieler was a strange signing as his pedigree suggests he's far too good to be Leicester's No2 although I haven't seen much evidence of that in his performances.
