Yeah BS. Why was Slimani scoring back then? Clearly the service was not the issue, Vardy was not interested at all.

Also this crappy logic that he was not getting any good service is crap. I can show you dozens of wasted chances created by Mahrez.

So per your logic: If Mahrez has Antoine Griezman to finish his chances, watch what happens.

Red...Mahrez contributed PL 3 assists in the whole season!

The stats show JVs conversion rate of chances per goal was very respectable.

Again I refer you to my previous point, Mahrez went two months at one point in the season without passing to his strike partner - Vardy.

Read these three sentences and then consider what drivel you are writing on the subject.

The one touch layoff to Vardy against Man City, in the rain from a long, high ball, is just to much. Fantastic. We are going to miss watching this guy.

Yes that was great skill no doubt.

It is a shame he only assisted for TWO other goals in the PL season though!

That's not the point. Mahrez had a crappy second half to the season but he had a pretty good start. Where as Vardy had a terrible start but an amazing second half.

I'm not arguing that mahrez has had a better season than Vardy.. I'm just trying to make a point that Vardy didn't have an amazing season overall either.

The only ones that were consistent this season were Ndidi and Kasper. The rest didn't impress me (yes including slimani and mahrez). I am optimistic though, and I am confident that they are able to work back up to greatness.

No one has actually said in this thread that Vardy has a good season for the whole season. They were merely stating that Vardy had at least got his act together and contributed in the latter half of the season. Whereas Mahrez, despite a few moments of brilliance, was utter tosh and disinterested for the whole campaign. That was clear to see to be honest.

The scary thing last season (genuinely) was that a 'not bothered' Mahrez STILL looked like our only creative player!

If we sell him and don't replace him with an unlocker of defences, expect a solid, grinding out results type Leicester, rather than a creative, adventurous one.

For me Mahrez lost interest after Ranieri was axed. He wasn't great with ranieri but he was even worse with Shakespeare IMO

I like the fact that Boudebouz is linked with Leicester but I'm not sure if he can handle the PL. Players are way too physical here as opposed to ligue 1. I can't think of any cheaper alternatives tbh though so it could be a good investment

Hakim Ziyeck is the man.

Too expensive but I do rate him highly. Not sure if he'd be interested in coming to the PL since Ajax aren't doing too bad right now.

A lot of newspapers are reporting that Arsenal is finally closing in on Mahrez after his frustration with waiting on too long on Barcelona to finalize the deal.

I think we are going to see Mahrez in a gunners shirt next season ?

I totally agree Col.

Despite being mostly useless he was still the only one I could fully believe in on our team to beat a man one on one. Unfortunately too many times he was double/triple marked.

Think the beating they took in the Europa final could tempt him to the prem

It doesn't matter if Mahrez agrees the deal it's on the owners if he leaves.  If he goes to Arsenal then they are going to have to pay top money for him.  Wenger can pay £40m minimum with plenty of add ons.  If he wants him then he'll pay it.  I'm not fussed if we have an unhappy Mahrez still at the club, he can't play any worse than he did last season.  I'm more concerned that we get someone in no matter what happens and if he goes the club aren't ripped off.

I'm gutted that he will be leaving but expecting it, just a shame the last memories of him were doggo.

Said this as soon as he said he wanted to leave.

  • We will get offers around 20 - 25 mil for him and no more
  • We may not leave due to the above

Again you pick and choose, comments of posters and claim that this proves Vardy had proper service and therefore had a poor season.

I'm not saying he was on fire all season - clearly he wasn't. I'm arguing this point remember as one joker on here said he had 'an abysmal season'.

He only had approximately 2 shots every 3 games, so service was a major issue.

He scored with almost a third of all his shots across the season ffs.

Spot on.

Im fed up of having to argue about this.

Our service to our strikers last season was utterly awful because our midfield for lengthy periods was utterly awful.

Its very simple. If a striker like Vardy gets plenty of good assists, he'll become more confident and the goals will start coming. When the quality of the final ball is as bad as ours was last season, he'll get frustrated and start snatching at chances.

Its not rocket science. Drinkwater looked knackered, Amartey was an awful central midfielder and King was just...King.

This matters.

You get Vardy supplied by Gylfi...watch what happens....

I clearly said that he had poor service, what are both on about?

I'm not talking about his end-product, I'm talking about his work rate that seemed lacking in that period.
