And i think there probably were times when some of our players weren't on the same wavelength as Mahrez and it was probably frustrating for him. I guess as well playing in a team with other flair players like sanchez for example, teams wouldn't always put 2 players on him every game. It was clear last season that teams targeted him as they knew that other than Vardys pace, he was our only real threat
ARM1968 Posted 24 June 2017 Posted 24 June 2017 Have to say there is taking the p!ss and taking the absolute p!ss. This is the latter. £26 million and the Ox? Maybe.
ARM1968 Posted 24 June 2017 Posted 24 June 2017 And that is your opinion to which you are just as entitled as any of us are to ours. Mine me differs from yours. I would take Willian in a heartbeat over Mahrez. Not because occasionally Mahrez shows flashes of brilliance, but because Willian nearly always show good skill and consistent application.

Willian is on £150k p/w. Can't see him dropping his wage demands to join the biggest club in the Midlands.

We knowingly and agreed to the release clause. No butt raping there.

You can keep putting your fingers in your ears and screaming 'I'm not listening' if you like but the facts about Mahrez are staring you in the face. For how long are you willing to watch an uncommited player at your club? For as long as he continues as our best player pal.

mazarron fox Posted 24 June 2017 Posted 24 June 2017 He was brilliant the title winning season, best flair player in my 50 years supporting the club. That said if I had watched last season as stand alone I would have said he's a weak link the team can't stand to carry. 5 mins of edge of sweet stuff a game is not enough

Kante was the most influential player this club has had for years, if not ever. Losing him was an absolute calamity for LCFC. Its if no surprise whatsoever that we went from generally pretty rubbish, in Pearson's Prem season, to title winners, back to relegation fodder, with the signing and then the sale of Kante. For this club he made a huge difference.

RODNEY FERNIO Posted 24 June 2017 Posted 24 June 2017 Arsenal forum reporting that Mahrez prefers a move to Arsenal rather than Chelsea or Liverpool. So if Arsenal don't bid ( or more likely the bid isn't enough ) he'd reluctantly accept a move to Chelsea or Liverpool even though they are not his first choice .. well that's what it sounds like. Don't think Riyad is giving a good impression not only to us but to opposition fans as well.

His tackling, heading and marking are not the greatest, nor is he the fastest, most energetic or driven. If you mean he has the most flair, certainly - but football is a multifaceted game. It's very difficult to judge a midfielder from a striker or a defender and most certainly a goalkeeper.

Wymsey Posted 24 June 2017 Posted 24 June 2017 Do doubt in Arsenal going to buy him personally. They're after Lacazette, and it appears they're upping their offer to buy him on every occasion. They don't seem a settled side with Lacazette not joining them yet and with Oxlade-Chamberlain and Wilshere etc set to be leaving apparently - so think Chelsea are the British club most-interested in Mahrez imo. PSG have a massive transfer budget apparently so they potentially could tempt him with a strong offer.

Just like every form of social media, think, why would he choose them over the others? Only an arsenal fan or a simple individual would think that were true. Mahrez wants out, the suitors aren't quite banging the door down like he or his agent expected. So his agent is blowing smoke up the arse or any available suitor they find desirable. Oh arsene Riyad loves your brand of tropheyless football xx and repeat to any top club in Europe.

This year, vardy has been an abysmal forward as the case with mahrez. The proof is in the pudding. Kante had an even better season with Chelsea whilst Vardy and Mahrez couldn't even perform half as well as in the title winning season. Still I think: Kante > Mahrez > Vardy in terms of importance if we had to compare them individually. But obviously all of them were equally vital to winning the prem.

I dont care about the 50 other players. We are talking about Mahrez. Last season - he was a liability. Is it because he wanted to leave ? Or is he just a one season wonder ? No one knows. What I do know is that during our title winning season - I wouldnt want to have traded him for anyone. This past season - I had to wonder more times than not, why he was on the pitch
