Yeh im pretty sure he can, whenever we played him or brought him on as a sub, we pushed him out wide trying to deliver balls into giroud and he has quite a bit of pace on him to, but when we played him upfront, he looked a proper player, as u mentioned the goal at bournemouth was ridiculous. 5 minutes ago, Devonfox1884 said: Any chance you'd give us Chambers you reckon? The RB/CB versatility would be great for us across different formations. Think I'd be happy with £30m + him. Personally i'd let chambers go out on loan again, i'd genuinely be happy if we gave him + cash with mahrez, he's a talent but again we just haven't given him game time, and i think Wenger rates holding higher then him in my opinion, but then again chambers kept holding out of the U21 team for the whole tournament. Im torn on chambers, i'll think he'll go on to have a great career, just not world class, great player but a tier below world class in my opinion.

Guest Posted 11 July 2017 Posted 11 July 2017 IF Mahrez went to Arsenal - I'd be absolutely gutted, particularly with it being Arsenal and your fans have been the biggest nobs over the last 2 seasons imho - but I most certainly would not want any Arsenal cast offs. They aren't very good players. There's a reason why Arsenal have slipped down the league. Chambers, Walcott, Gibbs, Elneny - all shite. I would be half-interested in Perez as they've just not used him though he'd just sit on the bench for Vardy which is a waste. IMO we should just tell Riyad to sod off and keep him. Really hoping that Arsenal buy Lemar! As an aside Gooner - a couple of questions: 1- Corzula - what's the score with him and could he leave (if he's fit)? 2 - What do you make of Everton's advances - and potentially ours if we were to sign Evans, Iheanacho and Siggy? Clearly we are the two teams (Everton even more willing to burn cash than we are) who want to try to push the top 6 but we all know (aside from our miracle season) how difficult that might be. Where do you see these up and coming teams - given that the Gunners have really been woeful for a few years but I'd assume that hope springs eternal and Lacazette + Lemar will get you all talking (I should say tweeting) about winning the league again?

Milo Posted 11 July 2017 Posted 11 July 2017 Really don't get the Everton approach... They have: Barkley/Rooney/Ramirez/Klaassen/Lookman and also Schneiderlin/Bolasie/Mirallas in their midfield (have I missed anyone). I know a few play as wingers, but wtf?? If they add Siggy, who is going to play where? Its madness.

Wymsey Posted 11 July 2017 Posted 11 July 2017 Before last season, where he looked off the pace at times, Barkley used to be attacking-minded - in both shooting where possible or create decent opportunities for others. Last season, though, he's just looked ordinary and perhaps lacked confidence in going forward. Maybe his head turned at some point.

Tuna Posted 11 July 2017 Author Posted 11 July 2017 50 million is a ludicrous rip off amount. Max I'd offer is low 30s with a couple of fringe players as ballast.

It's hardly going to make him want to move to Swansea though is it? Would having a grandparent in Swansea make you want to leave the place you've lived for the past decade or so? It's not as if he'd be moving to China. It's bloody Swansea.

That wouldn't been an insane idea... guys got talent, he showed it against our B team last season, it just needs better direction. His situation also echo's one we quite like at a club / are good at turning around - player snubbed by club, has something to prove, needs a platform to do it on. I suspect he would also benefit from a move away from Everton, new club, new town, new surroundings. Added in the fact its a World Cup year (providing that extra motivational factor) and Everton's apparent positon on him (essentially a "bugger off" it seems), this is a transfer i'd be happy for us to investigate further.

Well I wasn't particularly serious...but I like your thought process. So Gerrimin! Honestly think he'd see it as a step down, though. He's not good enough for top 4 or 5...so that leaves the kind of Southampton/Stoke/Us type clubs... Optimistic shout!

If i was a footballer I would want to be playing not warming the bench every week.

Yeah - I'm not sure its like that though... Training day in day out to impress to get a chance and always... nothing. Nice pay but a bit of a miserable life if you strive to be a decent professional.

If anything that may make him more of a decent professional. Someone who stays fit & works hard to be available for limited opportunities, whilst remaining supportive to the team. We can't carry a team of superstars, we need a few bench warmers in the same way as we need a good no.2 GK. Good solid pros like King are worth their weight in gold, players that don't rock the boat and throw toys out of prams on social media. Also, i bet it ain't that miserable compared to most of our jobs
