everyone knows that you dont start a job on the last day of the month! its gets confusing with pay, do i get paid for that one day of May or do i jsut get an extra days pay in june or a pay packet for just one day! So much easier if you just wait till the 1st of the month :D

Hopefully our transfer policy is not the same. Gylfi we want you but can you wait until 1st of month before signing so we don't have to pay you 2 and a bit weeks you are not working. :) Rudders on the case so anything possible

We need to sign players now not last minute deals. Rudkin is on holiday so I can take it that he will be trying to sign players just before the transfer window ends. No surprise there then.

It was claimed on here we'd have a manager by Tuesday or Wednesday but time's passing fast and the lead for both leadership and communication is growing.

Our last closed season was appalling and the January window no better.

Yet all I've heard this vital closed season is that we've been sunning ourselves on a yacht in Monte Carlo, raving about our kids 7-a-side team in Hong Kong, Mahrez wants out  and we're still arguing about who should manage the players who do want to stay.

And this from supposedly the 16th most valuable club in Europe.

What's the problem I wonder?

Whatever it is needs sorting and sorting fast.

With or without Shakespeare if he's suddenly got a problem.

We've had long enough to think things through in terms of what we do next and that goes for the owners, Shakespeare, the people who identify potential signings and so on.

Some choices hurt but they still need to be made. And with a clear head and a clear sense of direction. Otherwise another transfer window will have come, gone, and been largely wasted.

It's almost like we've been caught in the headlights of our own success and been blinded by the light.

Excellent point. Totally agree

We're beginning to look like a farcical outfit off the pitch and I'm getting completely fed up with it now. We're unfit for purpose.

Rudkin is in a position beyond his capabilities a football club that wants to amongst the best needs to have a management structure that befits such a football club. What are Rudkin's credentials for such a role?

Supporters, players and prospective signings need an announcement so we can move ahead with a clear focus. Who will sign for us with no manager?

How much longer before some of the other players get itchy feet and demand a transfer? Players want money, yes, but they need to buy into a vision. What is that at Leicester City now? Who knows. No manager = no vision.

You would think that the decision on whether to keep Shakey in charge would have been made before the end of the season and that a contract would have been drafted out. This should have been sorted within a week of the end of the season for it to drag on like this is just ridiculous. If they couldn' agree terms, move on.

We're either incompetent in not getting it done or are jerking Shakey around trying to get someone else in and keeping him as a backup option.

I've just about lost confidence in our ability to get anything done signing or managerial wise. It wouldn't surprise me either that this Sigurdsson 'enquiry' was leaked by us to give us some hope when in reality, nothing is happening.

Totally agree with this. I'm a bit fed up now. We've already blown our best ever position largely through ineptness in this area and I've seen absolutely nothing since the season finished to suggest this could go any differently.

Not sure if this has already been said and most probably useless gossip anyway, but......

Chap I see most mornings swimming (keen City fan) said he'd heard a rumour the delay was because they are trying to convince Sam Allardyce to accept a huge contract and work with Shakey as Manager.  Shakey would be head coach and effectively take over everything he loves doing and Sam does the final managerial stuff.  This gives SA time to be away from the daily throws of management and CS a lot of the coaching control he loves and is good at.

Probably rubbish, but its not impossible as no decision made yet (delayed), SA resigned week or so ago (i know the reasons he said why) and they both know and like each other.

Not a chance... we already have a DOF, if CS is doing the coaching and choosing the tactics what exactly would Sam be doing?

My response was puzzled, but the guy said that apparently Big Sam never does the coaching side of things anyway.  He literally does the game-day management side and manager game build up preparation stuff.  The coaches do the rest of, well normal coaching stuff.

I would say until the decision is made public, the delay continues, it can't be discounted outright.

Craig Shakespeare has agreed a three-year deal to be Leicester City manager

 Comments (0)

Craig Shakespeare has agreed a three-year contract to be manager of Leicester City.

The details of the contract have been finalised and an official announcement is expected later today, the Mercury understands.

Shakespeare has been in talks with the club since the end of the season and final aspects of his contract have been agreed between the club and his representatives.

The 53-year-old was assistant manager to Nigel Pearson and Claudio Ranieri, but he successfully stepped into the breach after the sacking of Ranieri in February.

He won his first six games as manager in all competitions and City climbed out of the relegation zone to finish comfortably 12th in the table.

Under him, City also reached the quarter finals of the Champions League having overturned a first leg deficit in the last 16 against Sevilla before narrowly being beaten by Atletico Madrid.
