sylofox Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 With the fixtures out today a hard start yes but not always a bad time to play the big teams. So then a run of not so big teams. But a piece in todays sun has me thinking. All the big guns have Europe up until December. Then the killer some teams could have ten games by the finish of the festive fixtures in a month. With fingers crossed all our sides qualify for the knockouts more games. All this in a condensed season due to some minor event in Russia in the summer. I personally would give up the league cup if we are going well in the league. Just so we don't have a semi final in a packed December. So is it possible we could be pushing hard and finish top six. Also how long will it be before the big boys are calling for a 30 man squad in our domestic league.
Strokes Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 No, I think steady progression. I'll be happy with a top ten finish and a good cup run.

I would be well happy with that to. But having 8 games ourselves in December and jan 1st is hard enough. But the sides in Europe are going to have two games every week from September. That's a huge effort.
FoxinNotts Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Would love a top half finish and the FA cup. Please win an FA cup, pleeeeese pweeeeeese
Fox92 Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 No. These big clubs play in Europe every season and yet still manage to compete/win the league. It'll be a long long time before another "average" club win the league again, sadly. I'll be happy with top 10 and a good run in both domestic trophies. FA Cup final would be superb but I say that every single season.

sylofox Posted 14 June 2017 Author Posted 14 June 2017 always been before Xmas I thought. Or one leg is.
Monsell1976 Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 I'd be happy for a bit of consistency this year, 2 out of 3 seasons we have struggled for large parts, so a comfortable mid/ upper half of the league, and a go at a cup will be a good season in my eyes. The title once a freak, we need to be looking at getting into the top six as a massive progression

yorkie1999 Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Don't worry lads , it's gonna be our year (spoken in a Liverpool accent)
DatfoxesKid23 Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 It can be if we get a new RB and a playmaker with maguire coming in it could be our year
Bunyip Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 The answer in my opinion is a resounding no. This is a strong and stable Premiership year for us and that is the ambition as far as the owners go and hence their appointment of Shakespeare. Consolidation is there aim after that very real scare of relegation last season . Time will tell if treading water is a good thing or bad but thats where we are going to be at this season.

Thracian Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 I think the expectation of maximum effort whenever and wherever we play should reverberate around the club as a given - and at every level. Winning - fairly - should be part of everyone's mentality at the club and not just on the football field. Every employee should want to give their very best, day in, day out because that kind of attitude is infectious. There's no point running anything - club, business or charity - without ambition and part of that ambition at Leicester should be to compete for every trophy we're privileged to play in. There's no need to detail priorities just to adopt a mentality of being up for every challenge, large or small, and being fully focused on the next game on the list as being the most important. We didn't expect to win The Premiership but we did and in style. We didn't expect to reach the latter stages of the Champions League but we did ourselves proud. Along the way we've collected all sorts of top team scalps and our players have won all sorts of international caps, competitions at various levels and individuals honours recognising sometimes exceptional achievements such as PFA Player of the Year. We've even fielded the England centre-forward.... None of the above have been vague wishes and hollow promises. They're honours that pay testimony to who we are and what we've become which is a team and a club to be respected. But to me today's owners, players and staff have shown the way - the challenge now is to extend the journey, write more chapters and make an ever more exciting and extraordinary story, . This year, next year, any and or every year for me. .
Buzzell Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 No. Would of thought a top ten finish would be a more realistic guess.

Foxxed Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 Doubt it. New manager. New coaching team. I'm guessing at least one star leaving. And we'd need our pre Athletico form. I'd be happy with anything above 14th, a youth team player coming through and a good cup run. I'll dream though.
Vacamion Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 The stars aligned when we won it. They probably won't do so again. For Thor's sake let's at least be comfortable in the league this year and take a few scalps and have a couple of cup runs.
UPinCarolina Posted 14 June 2017 Posted 14 June 2017 1) Take down Arsenal. 2) Take down Spurs. 3) Take down Man United. 4) FA Cup semi-final or finals 5) Top 10 finish 6) Finally beat feckin' Bournemouth In no particular order.
