Another proposal would see players not being allowed to follow up and score if a penalty is saved - if the spot-kick "is not successful", play would stop and a goal-kick awarded.

if it ain't broke don't fvcking fix it

  • a goal-kick being taken on the same side that the ball went out on

I thought that was a rule!? Used to be when I played in Primary school!

I remember when it changed so the keeper could take it wherever in the 6 yard box.

Hope they don't change halve lengths  really no point to doing it.

Edit: the dead ball rules look ridiculous allowing someone to pass to them selves will mean no one will ever cross a ball in for a corner

Penalties for passbacks is shit, I like indirect freekicks in the box because it's exciting

The only thing on that list that makes sense to me is

  • referees can only blow for half-time or full-time when the ball goes out of play

if we are going to stop the clock for all them situations like suggested the game will just drag on

the game will end up being like NFL with games being upwards of 4 hours

we only get 60 minutes of football can't be right. I'd be in favour of 90 minutes and stop the clock, or even 80 as they do in rugby

The ball is only in play for around 60 minutes per game.

The best way to stop time wasting would be half an hour each way, with the clock stopped every time the ball wasn't in play.

Marco van Basten suggested this a few years ago.

If they reduced the match time to 30 minutes I wouldn't be bothered going.

I'd keep 45 minutes Each Half

Game only ends with Ball out of play.

Clocks stops every time play stops and added at the end of each half.

Penalty  scored or missed would avoid the DRINKWATER incident

Hand Ball rule more clarity needed.

These are the most important issues along with Video Evidence.

The rest I'd leave alone.

It wouldn't though.

The winning team just has to win the ball back and boot it out for a throw.

Edit; I think I misread your post :)

The time thing might be for good intentions to ensure the paying customer gets value for money but would be difficult to filter down to local football level plus I'm not sure the TV companies would be so keen on such an open ended option, true they have to cater for extra time in cup games but not for your every day league game.

Besides they could still do something about time wasting instead of booking players which is no real deterrent why not just indicate that they're adding 30secs onto the game time. Like wise with subs have specific time added on and add an extra 30 secs if they go over the time.

With injuries they need to be stricter especially when you see an injured player come back onto the pitch before collapsing.

I sense this is the foundation for "American Football" style broadcasts coming with time-outs etc. with breaks for Adverts throughout the game, and if that happens, I'll not watch another game, some of the discussions will make sense if rules are slightly modified...but we all know hat the ref will still get surrounded by "the big clubs" whatever the outcome.

You know what would happen if they had stoppages during halves right? More adverts on TV mid play with the possibility of play not restarting until TV ads have been completed.

No worries it is two separate points but don't look that clear reading it back now

Why do they have to mess with tradition, it's always been 45min per half??

Ffs what's next corner flags to be scrapped for flashing lights??

I'd just wish they would concentrate on technology to stop the cheats rather than mess with tradition they could also introduce sin bins as per rugby for time wasters etc rather than mess with the times of the half don't really wish to see football changing rules about times of halves !!

So we'd still end up with 45 minutes for each half,  so what's the actual point of doing it

All change is good don't you know.  Standing still is not an option in the modern world.
