If we were selling a 15m midfielder and getting a 40m midfielder in to replace him would your opinion of him chance? Everyone is so desperate to get bodies in that they don't actually care who they are, it's thoroughly embarrassing. You said it yourself - ridiculous. Drinky doesn't want to be here and Silva is on a similar level to him. It's not embarrassing it's common sense.
Ric Flair Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 Imagine making a fool of Silva two transfer deadline days in a year. Don't do this Leicester, get him in and send Drinkwater to Leuven.

We don't know what is happening, we could have sorted DD but waiting for medical to be completed and other bits with silva I guess...

Babylon Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 Silva, N'didi, Iborra, DD, James, King, Amartey. Whether you think they are good enough or not, you don't need loads of people hanging around not playing. Oh and the money factor again.
NewEnglandFox Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 I'd rather not be being dangled Silva again right now. He's going to be tremendously overpriced being a guy we've been in before as a midfielder has submitted a transfer request at the death of the window. edit: 15M. Wasn't it 30 last year. Another red flag.

I didn't say that we shouldn't sell him. He wants to go so if they make the right bid then they can have him. But, like I say, Chelsea actually have to bid the amount he's worth. They don't look like doing that... IMO.

We should be looking to bring players in regardless of who leaves. If we rate this bloke, and we obviously do since we've been linked to him no end, we should just sign him. It should make no difference what Drinkwater does. It's not about him, that's the point you're missing.
Monsell1976 Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 How's this work, hi silva, we've dragged you across Europe, we want to sign you, but can you just sit there with your pen until 11 o'clock, because we might not want you I'm guessing to go to that much trouble, the drinkwater deal must be nailed on.
onekeithweller Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 Surly we can afford them both and just use Danny in the Carboot Cup.
Sir Shep Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 Mendy's gone so we are a midfielder short as it is but I accept it's what the club wants so I'm assuming Drinky bid has or will be accepted.

Newsflash, you bring in good midfielder it's the starting midfielder they replace who gets the arse and wants to go. Oh and yeah, let's not forget the money points you ignore.
katieakita Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 The club give little away but with Mendy gone we need another midfield player, could be that whatever happens Silva is coming and saying it depends on DD going could just be an attempt to make Chelsea put a higher bid in

King and Amartey not good enough, James not ready week in week out, Drinky played his hand. A club with ambition needs to make brave decisions, not just fill the squad with dross to keep everyone happy.

Exactly, I imagine it's the other way around I.e. the drinky deal depends on Silva happening

I think we have sorted things out with Chelsea, this is inevitable now just need to do the medical and sort the small details out with silva...
Callabinho Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 Are our recruitment staff touched? Bin Drinky off and get silva in, stop pissing about!

I'm certain it's because Chelsea are expected to make an appropriate offer. He he will go in my opinion.
Livid Posted 31 August 2017 Posted 31 August 2017 I can't believe we have gone to this much effort this late in the day for £15 million dicking a prospective player around just in case. More Sky BS trying to keep it interesting if you ask me.
