This reeks of Inler.

Can see this being a waste of money and the chap will be back in Spain by January.

He will get a chance, unlike Inler. He's coming into a team with no Kante and an underperforming DD.

Drinky is due his good season and we all know how good Ndidi is. I can see a possible change of system but either way this guy has the quality to make it with us.

Bench: Gray, Slim, King, Barnes, Morgan, Simpson, GK.....

Drinky isn't creative enough to play behind the two strikes.

How so? Nothing like Inler lol seeing this said a lot but Inler was 32, widely recognised as on his way over the hill and not even a fan favourite anymore..

Ha! No but I have the corresponding mug....

I did the ligaments on my ankle for the second time in 10 weeks a couple of weeks ago whilst out training.... the codeine helps me sleep through the night - I'm not sure Henry would have the same effect!

I'm left with light boxing and the bench to try and stave off weight gain as I can't do proper cardio right now...:(

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. I think he can be but has been bedding in a new CMF partner all season and can't get forward as theres a hole where Kante used to be..... I do wonder if Barnes might be the future there?

Yes, I've always wanted to see Drinkwater playing in a more offensive role.

Someone playing as an attacking mid I'd expect close to double figure assists and a handful of goals, I can't see Drinky doing that. Also, I'm not sure he'd be able to find space in between the lines and I'd have question marks over how quick is feet our and skill set to get out of tight situations as playing as a CAM you will be working in tight areas.

Sure - I think though he is capable as we saw in the title winning season and in the England match of putting through killer balls to Vardy.... Deeney as a number 10 crashing forward will also help and give options... He just never really gets forward in a massively committed way of late as he knows his job is box to box?

I just think Drinkwater is an honest box to box midfielder who isn't great at anything, but can do everything to a decent standard. Also, most of Drinkwaters balls to Vardy were from deep. I think drinkwaters best position is as a Box to Box CM and when's he fit and healthy he's brilliant at it. I think there are better options out there.. Boudebouz, Ziyech who can play behind the striker for us and will be more effective.

Yeah I don't disagree tbh - just think in our side in that formation he could play behind a 9 and a 10 for us given a shot - who else could play in that hole/role?

Lawrence? Barnes? Even Gray maybe? I'm not sure....

Is swimming not an option, Swan?

It's my go-to training option when I'm carrying an injury.

Not yet, the ligaments won't do that, its too early - plus theres no pool near here big enough o bother with and I usually do open water as result.... Maybe in a few weeks...

That really is thoroughly depressing.

Champions in 2017...lining up like that in 2018.

Leicester that.

I wouldn't mind that too much if you replaced DD with a genuinely creative player and we got Iheanacho instead of Deeney (or even Slimani if he gets up to speed). Replace Maguire with Fuchs too.

Just to get a bit of a register of how exactly that is depressing (looks ideal for away games/hard home games to me) How exactly is having one of the most promising left backs and one of the most promising DM's in the league, together with FIVE people who have captained at one time or another depressing?

I understand your point is to do with creativity but an attacking 4-4-1-1 version of this in Home games would look much more creative and the issue with us last season was no plan B... this looks a good plan B to me.

There's absolutely zero flair, pace (Vardy aside) or creativity.

It would be ****ing painful watching that side.

Our wingers are our playmakers and source of creativty. Even if Mahrez stays I think we need another creative winger to compete with Mahrez/Albrighton.

Did you watch Chillwell in the U21? Bloke is rapid!!

I understand what you are saying but it would only be painful if we still tried to play on the counter.... the system you've laid out would be much more direct and to the point with through balls etc etc... it might not be beautiful but it could well be effective.

He isn't rapid. He's quick when he gets into full stride but his acceleration isn't that great at all. He's regularly done for pace because of it.

I'd much rather be playing with the pace and trickery that we were playing in our title winning season. Obviously not to the same effect (but one can dream). We were an absolute joy to watch.

Would you take Jesus Navas on a free transfer?
