we'll sell Mendy.

Was just thinking re his fitness Stan? Would clubs not agree a loan with loose agreement at the end to buy if he proves his fitness?

From reading all of the comments and views on Iborra, I believe we have a real leader and winner on our hands.

This ultimately is an underrated quality.

He could be a huge influence on the dressing room and help our younger players - in particular Ndidi.

Im looking for him to bring a mentality to the squad just like cambiasso did whilst also providing some quality on the field.

He may not play 30 games in a league campaign but I feel for the money we're reportedly paying - this could be a great coup.

Fingers crossed!

I'm not. I wasn't impressed with Inler at all, but the point I was making was the man made 5 appearances for us. Reason being was the form of Drinkwater and Kante, he wasn't needed in any way. King got a few appearances here and there but it just didn't happen for Inler. If Iborra only gets 5 games for us then we've either had a blinder of a season and he can't get a sniff, he gets injured or he is absolutely revolting right from the off, which would be unusual.

Was a Ranieri signing and don't think Shakey rates him.

From a personal point of view anyway there are better midfielders at the club - Ndidi, Drinkwater, King, James, Iborra (if all goes well), Amartey. He's so far down the pecking order it's not worth keeping him and we might as well cut our losses.

Does he speak good English then?

It seems like we as fans are becoming a little arrogant and expect players to move them and their family to a new country and adapt to a new league instantly. Injuries are not an excuse and neither is anything else. I sometimes wonder if we give them time to adapt then they may well show something positive. Not everyone is Kante. Remember Yuki Abe? He was homesick and couldn't adapt, we never take this in to consideration. I hope Abe is well, I liked him.

well injuries are an excuse because without playing time due to those injuries, they can't adapt or will take longer to. if he's consistently getting injuries, he's not going to get a good run of games and therefore not be of much use to the team?

Good signing imo

I find it difficult to see how he is so far down the pecking order if he's fit. He was a key player for Nice with good stats. Personally think he could be an asset if he can stay fit and get a decent run of games.

like i said, personal point of view :). Even if you take King and Amartey out of the equation, you still have 4 better CMs than him.

Fair enough, I'd be sad to see us give up on him so quickly if we're looking to ship him out.

Latest i could find on him - obviously annoying his opposition!

No idea but communication isn't always driven by speaking the same language

Don't see how he fits our style, we need 2 energetic midfielders for our 442 to work. Perhaps we're moving to a new formation

My thoughts: this guy is energetic as hell and gave us fits the second game vs. Sevilla. He is a bulldog of a worker, tenacious, physical, huge for a MF, savvy AF, and can play up and down the midfield. He is very comfortable getting fwd, he will help with set pieces, he is not considered amazing technically on the Sevilla side but that is bc they have so many great technical players, on the LCFC side he may be our most technically proficient MF on the ball and with his passing (from what I have seen his passing can be a bit aggressive, but he is missing when he is aggressively passing to space, Vardy will love that). He is also well rested, he didn't play a ton for Sevilla bc he often didn't fit their preferred style of play -- nonetheless, he was a psychological institution at the club, and the loss in the locker room will be enormous. For them. For us, we just gained another leader for the locker room who knows what it takes to win and is looking to help this team in any way he can, while getting paid those nice fat Prem checks.

And I agree with the formation, I think we are going to use staggered MF lines with either Iborra or DD or another player we haven't signed yet playing AM a bit fwd flanked by wings, with a pair of DMs (Ndidi/Drinky or Ndidi/Iborra) behind.

no idea how reliable this guy is.

He was saying last night there's no way he would go to Leicester or something along those lines, so not very.

Genuine question - Does he speak English? Can't think of any Spanish speakers in our squad who could help him?

Edit - Ulloa if he stays I guess

Which is a good reason why Ulloa must stay to help him settle in if he does end up coming. I think he's better than Slimani anyway.
