Babylon Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 How are we weaker when we've sold nobody and added two players. Ffs some people talk nonsense. We're still lacking a 10 and an attacking right back, which is crazy as it's been obvious for two years.

m4DD0gg Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 Hope we are in for a new CB as plodder morgan is done. Without Huth he is less than hopeless.
Legend_in_blue Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 The squad gets older and older yet this afternoon's display shows little to rectify this or a pattern of change in the way we play. Predictable doesn't even begin to describe the predicament we are in.

TheUltimateWinner Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 Did we really have no backup if we didn't sign our first choice signings? Weve been linked with no number 10s bar Sigurdson and now we aren't getting him we've seemingly given up on looking for similar players. What is going on with our recruitment?

Players are another year older, another summer more complacent with pretty much zero competition in several places. IMO mate it's nonsense to think that we're not weaker than 2 seasons ago. You can't just keep the same group of players forever, of course they get weaker over time. Proof is quite clearly in the pudding and I know you see it. And yes, absolutely ****ing crazy to think we've been crying out for those 2 positions for two years and nobody in our management / recruitment team has managed to put their ****ing heads together and make it happen. Actual madness.
Buzzell Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 I said no all because we are lacking some creativity in the middle of the park.

Well according to 'the whole world smiles', nothing...its excellent.. ? Getting back to the real world, it's not about whether it's made us any better, it's about whether it's made us good ENOUGH. Personally, I'm yet to see Iborra, so I can't comment on him. And Maguire I'm more than happy with. But it's not enough imo. We are still short of a RB (please don't throw Amartey at me here), a creative CM and in my opinion, another top striker. Slim is fookin injured again I believe. Football is a funny ol game, but I can't see this squad realistically going into the Arsenal game and thinking we'll have much of a chance.

Think Nacho will play the number 10 role behind Vardy/Slim

Wymsey Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 Get another creative midfielder, like NDidi who at least tries to be the most, and get rid of Musa (who seems to be staying by a thread currently) - and it'll be better.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 No we are lacking quality in creative midfielder and right back centre back and forward (hopefully that Man City lad)

Just because we haven't been linked doesn't mean that we are not trying. The Sigurdsson bid was far earlier in the summer but for example didn't get revealed until six weeks later.

Again not easy to get rid of players without buyers wanting to put the money up.
Tuna Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 Assuming we tie up Ihenacho, I'd still like us to get in another creative midfielder and a full back to challenge Simpson. As I said before I'd take Ramirez right now, although he seems to be heading for Betis.
GaelicFox Posted 29 July 2017 Author Posted 29 July 2017 Wondered when this would pop up again after last 3 games anyone who thinks we should be happy with transfers in so far are deluded we need competition for places and quick !!!!!

Yep again I agree it's stark staringly obvious where we are short but as always sweet fvck all is being done about it makes a change but nobody can blame Ranieri for this either

Actual madness. Well you've just changed it to two years ago when we had Kante. The players we have haven't suddenly gone to shit because of their age. The areas that are getting old have been strengthened (or are I the process of being, Iheanacho). As for complacency, how do you even measure that one?
Ian Nacho Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 Up until the pre-season games back in England, yes, but after these three games, no way. Maguire is definitely a fantastic signing but Iborra, don't get me wrong I think he's a quality player from what I've seen but I'm unsure if it's the type of player that we actually need, would have much preferred Silva from Lisbon. Also, this Iheancho fiasco has dragged on for far too long now, even if we do sign him he would have pretty much missed the entirety of pre-season so he won't be at full fitness for the first few weeks of the new season.
Callabinho Posted 29 July 2017 Posted 29 July 2017 We've improved the back four but that's it....Iborra will be another Inler, and we've failed to strengthen the areas that desperately need it....severely lacking going forward...

Totally! WTF happens if Vardy is injured? Musa and Ulloa as much use as a one legged man at an arse kicking party!... No creative midfield player.. Drinkwater looks the shadow of the player he once was.. All in All...We're fooked!
