How can Mahrez be so bloody inconsistent between matches?

Vardy or Slim off please and lets get Iborra on playing as a number 10 .

He's a DM, playing as an emergency 10 now and again doesn't qualify him to play there for us.

He was used by Sevilla now and again because he's a lump, something different in Spain. Here he's just another lump to go along with all the others.

There are obvious communication problems all over the pitch at the moment - but that's only to be expected at this stage of the season.

Aside from Maguire they're all used to playing with each other?

Cm's been anonymous, outnumbered constantly.

Yeah I was thinking Shakes might aswell switch formation for the second half to see how.ot affects things. It's only pre season after all.

For our second pre-season game I think we're doing great.

Matty James and Drinkwater not doing their jobs. Liverpool walking through. Luckily we have Ndidi and Iborra who I'm sure will do that better in a real game against the big teams. I think even more evidence of playing 3 in midfield away at big teams. Let's face it, it's like an away game!

lol Amartey. Maybe he's not a defender. Showing Countinho inside onto his right was probably the worst piece of decision making I've ever seen.

What actually is Amartey though? At present he isn't a premier league player.

Cut Amartey some slack. He ain't a RB. Not a (good) CM either. He's always been played out of position. He did okay this half and defending against Coutinho isn't the simplest task.

After we scored we reverted to the same pattern of play that got CR the sack, hoofing the ball out from the back and completely bypassing the midfield. First 15 minutes we were excellent, but we look really disjointed at the moment. Hopefully once Iborra comes on we'll have someone in the middle who is comfortable in possession under pressure.

He's been having one for about 12 months now

You can't write that, you have to say he's young and will be great.

Started off well enough.  Coutinho and Salah are class.  Their defence is a bit lacklustre though so I hope we really go at them in the second half.

I think 3-5-2 would be working for us better in this game.

Amartey off for Iborra

Drinky off for Ndidi

Was it just me who didn't think Amartey was at fault for this? There was a Liverpool player overlapping into the position the right back is responsible for and Drinkwater decided to go there as well. Drinks should have gone to Coutinho.

One must have a dig at him. Christ.

You just forgot the flick for Vardy, some good runs and good defensive work. Apart from that you're right though.

Not a dig at all. Just an observation, don't think he's played badly at all, just struggling to get up and win the headers when we pump it deep every 5 minutes.

It's a result of the way we're trying to play....the game plan is obviously for him to win the long ball and play vardy in, it's worked a couple of times but our defence must be praying for a bit of a break.

I really don't think Matty James is up to the standards we need.

Iborra and Ndidi will be our best pair in centre mid this season.

Really hope Riyad stays with us.

Can't believe the negativity of you lot. Sort yourselves out.

Midfield showing how much we need Ndidi.  Matty has been the better of the pair on the pitch at the moment but has started to get tired.  I'm not sure Drinky has done much which saddens me to say.
