drinky is so negative!!! even a 5 yard pass from him can suck the momentum out of the team! yes james didn't do alot, but his passing was very positive and he found the free man instead of throwing a grenade of a pass

Yep... we lack creative options (like we've been saying for years).

Spot on mate yet the club just keep trying to get CDM's lol

Liverpool have punished two big defensive errors.  Amartey's was individual but surely Fuchs'/Maguire's will be tightened up.

Amartey just ran away from Coutino when he shaped to shoot :D

Because there was a player overlapping? If he stood there and let the runner go for a free cross he would be slated for that as well.

Was it just me who didn't think Amartey was at fault for this? There was a Liverpool player overlapping into the position the right back is responsible for and Drinkwater decided to go there as well. Drinks should have gone to Coutinho.

Amartey should have stayed with his man, that split second where he checked the runner caused the space for the shot.

Thought Amartey did pretty well overall. He's no Simpson but that great overlapping run had taken his attention there.

Second pre season game and think we're looking ok but not enough from our midfield so far. Strikers isolated and looking for knock downs.

To follow the run of Milner (I think it was him). Look how deep everyone is, they're all waiting for a cross.

This 100 times over. I personally think he's incredibly overrated

He was telling him different as they left the pitch - seemed to say that amartey didn't commit to doing one thing or the other so DD was left not knowing what to do - no idea if that's right but it was poor

its actually getting more humid here as the breeze drops out completely

Started off well enough.  Coutinho and Salah are class.  Their defence is a bit lacklustre though so I hope we really go at them in the second half.

yes salah was good, but coutinho was feeding him great passes to put him one on one in the space. try to do that to riyadh and you would see the difference

Watching it back it looks like poor communication, drinky should be telling Amartey to stay with Coutinho if he's covering on the right.

They both end up trying to cover the overlap and it looks like school boy defending in the end.

I think being closest to the man though, he should be taking responsibility to close Coutinho down. Caught in 2 minds and lacking the ability to decisive seems to be a regular occurance for Amartey though.

It's pretty embarassing we have 7 people in the box and the best striker of the ball has about 3 yards of space haha

Is amartey at rb? The lad's been exposed every time he's ever played there. He isn't a right back and never will be. Buy one asap.

He went with the player overlapping thinking that someone else was staying with the man on the ball. That's a syatem thing, no biggie in our second pre-season game.

Ndidi is missed in the midfield. Liverpool are having a field day. Can't blame the defense when they're put under constant pressure from the likes of Firminho, Coutinho and Salah, we can only concede.

Fair enough, I actually agree now that it was more than likely bad communication because you could argue who should do what from different perspective. However if they had communicated as to who was getting who the shot shouldn't have come in.

Oh well, come on LCFC!

Does anyone remember when we got tonked at Anfield last season.

Well this performance is the opposite of that.

Despite the heat and humidity.

We can still  have these, even when the subs come on...

I feel we can get back into this, I'm glad this is competitive gives us a good indication of where we are
