Leicester City vs. Borussia Mönchengladbach

Not surprised in the slightest Mahrez has been booed tonight.  He's split opinion with his antics off the field and if he puts in sub par performances when the season starts proper he'll give those people even further ammunition.

He should seriously consider revoking his statement.  He wants top 6.  We're two players away from securing at least top 8 imo.

There are no guarantees in football and no guarantees that he'd go on to emulate what he has achieved here at a so called top 6 club.

He should stay.

I think the main shocker from tonight is balti pies no longer being available. I mean a cheeseburger just isn't the same.

They stopped them a while ago didn't they?  I always forget, get excited whenever I visit, and then am disappointed when I realise!

That German bombers song is not cool..

" 2 world wars and one World Cup! Do da! Do da!" Would of been much better.

They were being served last season, was devastated to find that they were gone today. Although, I usually do sit in the East Stand so fingers crossed they're there come Brighton ??

Seen a number of tweets saying they were.

10 German bombers also.

A group of ugly people sang 10 German bombers against Werder Bremen a few years back, each and every one, just ugly.

I'd also say the main concern is how much time Jacob Daniel is spending on his blower

Just seen the goals.

That touch by Vardy... I have never seen him show such first touch quality!

The second... the timing of the balls from Mahrez and Ineacho were delight

If you boo'd Mahrez, honestly, have a word with yourself.

You are a moron.

You also more than likely clapped or maybe even sang for Leo Ulloa who vowed never to play for the club again. All Mahrez did was ask to leave, to further his career, which he can't do here as we as a club lack ambition (please see last summer and this summer).

Again, you are a moron.

Also, "antics off the field"? Requesting something the entire world thought he'd do last season, but didn't, is hardly an "antic". You make it look like he's shagged Shakey's gran. And in either case, I'm glad he stayed, I can understand his request and I hope he stays and rips up the premiership with kelechi.

Totally agree that anyone who booed Mahrez is a moron.

But how exactly do the club lack ambition?  We broke our transfer record twice last summer.  We've just spent £25M on a very highly-rated player.  How is that showing a lack of ambition?

Who did we add last summer? Accuse us of lacking competence, not ambition.

Who did we add this summer? Four starter-quality players with a month yet to go.

You'd have to be daft to think we lacked ambition based upon the last two transfer windows. Perhaps he meant something else.

No idea why people are lying about the non-booing. It 100% happened.

I didn't hear any booing bud, I was sat family stand towards the corner with the main stand

When?? The booing was aimed at their centre back wasn't it?

Where I was, down the other end, it was quite loud.  Mainly coming from the corner of the south stand and west stand.  If you were down the other end then it was probably hardly noticeable, but I can assure you, it did happen

It was when he came on, there was a cheer (far more cheering than booing) and then as the cheering died down you could here the boos.

The owners put their hands in their pockets last season and this its just that last season's signings didn't for the most part work out, hardly a lack of ambition. Plus nobody knows who else we've tried to get over that period.

As for last night.

Positives:

Maguire. What a composed class act for a centre half he seems. Strong, good positioning, time on the ball, not afraid to push forward and some good passing plus a threat at set pieces.

James. Great to see him back. Solid and accurate passing.

Ndidi. Slow start but grew into it and as we know looked quality.

Vardy.  Sparky fit and up for it.

Iheanacho. Probably one of the shortest debuts in a City shirt. Bound to be ring rusty but showed quality and great movement, could easily be that link up player we've been craving for. Was so busy thinking ' God he's going to leave it too late to shoot' that I didn't even notice Vardy. That's why he's worth 25M and I'm worth 25p!

Negatives:

Morgan. Hate to criticise our winning captain but he stood out as woeful. With the exception of a couple of trademark blocks, whatever Maguire did right, he got wrong. Slow, cumbersome, uncomfortable on the ball and with head or feet, kept passing to the opposition.  In fact it was a poor easy  header from him to the opposition that led to they're goal! I have sympathy. He's been out for a long while and from experience,  bad backs can't be rushed, so Shakey,  don't rush him back, he's not ready and would be a liability against  Arsenal. I  know that he had a cap last game but Benny or even Armarty have got to be a better option until Wes comes back properly like I think he will.

Gray. Largely anonymous and poor. Has a lot to learn. Last night is why he didn't get much game time last year.

Marhez. I've been one of his biggest critics on here BUT...last night we got a glimpse of what could be if a fully committed Marhez, Vardy and Iheanacho played together, very frightening for the opposition but now just very sad. He wants to play for a top 6 side, but with a combination like that and a couple of tweeks why can't we be that? We've done a lot better with worse!

Not at all questioning what you heard bud I just genuinely never heard any booing at all from where I sat

Hopefully Mahrez didn't either.  If there is slim chance that he'll stay, something like that could impact his decision.  I don't see why people feel the need to do it.  He was below par last season, but most of the squad were.

I was one of his biggest critics last year, it was clear his heart was not in it.  But on the other hand he's one of the biggest talents we've ever had.  He came out at the end of last season and was honest about what he wanted.  Even as a massive Leicester fan for all my life, if there was the slightest chance of me ever playing for a side like Milan or Arsenal or even Barcelona (although I think Mahrez is stretching his own self belief with that one) then I'd have a decision to make.

I'm torn on what I want from Mahrez, if he's going to put in another season like the last then we're better off without him, if he's going to knuckle down and try and get his move again next summer then this could be a big year for us.  But while he's still a Leicester player you'll never hear a boo from me, maybe the odd "for **** sake, pass the bloody thing" or similar, but never a boo!  The guy had the season of his life 2 years ago and ended up player of the year, that should be remembered and the fact that he came out with honesty should be respected.  It wasn't nice to hear but he could have done a "delph" on us
