Good business letting Woods go and keeping Leo.  Even with hindsight, that still looks bad judgement.. Another one we let go on the cheap.

At the time Wood was well behind Ulloa and I thought we got a good fee for him as did most IIRC.

Wood has only developed because he got game time that he wouldn't get here, a bit like Drinkwater, James, Lawrence and all the other Man Utd cast offs we've had. If they stayed at Man Utd none of those would be the player they are today. If we were buying Wood back I don't think anyone on here would support that.

I'd be happy to get the likes of Musa, Ulloa, etc on loan to Championship clubs. Our squad players probably excel at that level and you can always get a good fee for someone who has performed at Championship level.

Yeah yeah - just a shame we missed the potential?.   Still I am sure Rudders included a sell on clause.

We're back to that Foxestalk favorite of loaning players out.  The club would gain sod all from loaning Ulloa.

We simply cannot keep 7 central midfielders, 5 wingers and 6 strikers all happy. It's too many. We need to lose 2 CM's, a winger and 1-2 strikers.

It's working itself out. There is almost a month left. We have to figure out for certain who we will have. If we bring in an AM, ok, Lawrence can go. If Drinky goes, ok, that changes how many we need to move. Is Mahrez coming or going? Because we may have wanted to see as much of Musa as we could on the wing before deciding to send him out on loan. Mendy has to be loaned, he can't really be sold yet until we get him healthy, to big a loss, plus he may be one of our best MF if healthy, we have no way of knowing. Great we brought in Nacho to play with Vardy, I'd like to keep Slim and Shinji and the rest can go. Etc. Etc.

Not a big deal yet.

Apart from having someone else pay his wages?

Brighton would probably buy him if we were looking at loaning him

Big lump type strikers do well in the Championship, they usually populate the top goalscoring charts.

We've seen with Daryl Murphy that Newcastle bought for £5m last season and Forest bought for £2m this season despite being 34 years old that they hold their value. Anyone who can get goals in the Championship is usually a £10m player. Look at Rhodes and McCormack who are a certain age and never done it in the PL.

If Ulloa went on loan and done well in the Championship he'd be sought after.

We have no sold anyone, except we have because we don't need to. We cant swap and change all the time.

If we sold the the likes of musa, slimani etc...we'd get next to nothing for them.....regardless of how rich we are it's not good business sense...just yet lol

We need to enhance the squad. The additions last summer didn't do that. So far, Maguire, Iborra and Nacho, hopefully do that.We still lack depth, barely two elevens of experienced players.

And a partridge in a pear tree.

Just a little to early for that Ric lol

andreas christiansen rated 18m last year

musonda linked to Celtic 5m

gibson will probably need 30m

hollgate colemans cover no chance

chambers 16m bid rejected by palace

hazard, Arsenal were interested for 26m in March

Verdict gone massively under value on most, then spunked 30 extra million on Musonda.

Rudders is safe for now

Last year we spent lots on mendy musa slimani and ndidi. ... of these ndidi is a sucess.  That means we get valure for about £1 in evey £6  (in my head).

This may be down to poor choice of target.... or poor induction (by which i mean having someone work closelywith each new signing  to help them adjust to the pl and develop the specific skills , strength and mindset they will need.

The target selection could be helped with the "moneyball" methods.

The induction thing is key though. When i ran a company we were growing and hiring all the time. We worked closely with all new hires to make them effective as quickley possible.  I worry that our club seems to need this infrastructure urgently

I assume Benny is on his way? Played all of pre season until he pissed shakey off with that tackle, wasn’t anywhere near last night and is currently in Italy

Off to Atalanta? Does this mean we'll be loaning or selling, and of course does this mean we have someone coming in?

So a picture of Benny in a funny hat means he's off to Atalanta. How do you infer that?

I'm asking the question. Maybe he's on a cheap weekend break. Maybe he's been linked with Atalanta in the past. Maybe putting 'World news' is suggesting something other than he's got a new silly outfit.
