He's highly thought of, works his arse off, and is very professional, so we have no real interest in selling. Wes is still club captain, and that has a value in itself. No-one will show any interest in paying a fee, and his high wages at the age he is. This isn't football manager, where you just press "offer to clubs" and it's job done...................

Even if Mahrez is not as good as he was, I think he's been the best of a bad bunch in preseason. Shown plenty of glimpses of his ability. Against Burton I feel like Chilwell, Gray, James, Iborra, Ndidi and Musa were OK. But we need to raise our level fast or I fear we will be in serious trouble. On topic I do agree with the OP that we should sell some more players to bring in new ones. I think we need freshening up in key areas with more signings that have better technical ability.

Rusko187 Posted 2 August 2017 Posted 2 August 2017 Out of all of those players the only one I'd sell is Ulloa, like the guy but I don't see how he fits in when we could have a fit Slimani who frankly is a better goal scorer. Shinji - Not a striker, possibly not even a footballer but he's a pest and he does put a shift in so keep. Mendy - Frustrated at his injuries but he hasn't really been able to string a number of games together, maybe a diamond in the rough so keep. Musa - Needed time to settle in the league and country, still a young player with Champions League experience and feel he has so much more to offer... keep Wes - Begin to phase him out but don't sell, we owe him more than that.. guys been there when we've won the Championship and Premiership, was vital in those 2 campaigns and can help nurture future talent. Have to keep.

He made about 10 smart runs in behind and all he needed was a through ball or ball over the top and he'd have been clean through in goal. I like that he comes inside and sits on the shoulder of the fullback. This firstly nullifies the fullback from attacking & also provides a problem for the covering CB's. IMO Musa's movement running on the inside and getting in behind, could help create space for Vardy and gives Drinkwater/Mahrez more through ball options .

The big money is likely to come in for players that we really need to keep such as Gray Drinkwater and maybe Lawrence not to mention Mahrez who has been outstanding pre-season. We looked a different team when Gray came on last night surely we are going to keep him whatever bids come in.Alarm bells would be ringing if both Mahrez and Gray or Drinkwater leave.

Musa had a spell last season where he was playing quite well and got unfairly dropped. Since then his confidence dropped and he looked appalling, definitely a confidence player and it was nice to see a good performance from hia last night.

As far as we've been made aware by the press, we're actvery trying to sell but clubs only want to loan. Musa. We are already quite low on wide players with the possibility that two more may leave so I'd imagine we are reluctant to let more go. Especially since its been reported that he's been impressing in pre season training. Wes. Why would we sell our captain who has served us well when we appear to be trying to sign more CB's and Benny is at the club who isn't as important to us as Morgan is Shinji. Why would we sell shinji? He'said a good hardworking player who may not scores goals but offers other attributes to the team. Even if we sign a replacement, he is certainly a player I want in our squad.

I too believe that there are a couple of exceptions.... shinji is key to playing the pressing game and to offer a route out of mid field..... often coming short to cause the defenders to move forward thus allowing the longer ball. Like it or not he remains key to that mode of play. Second. ..simpson is playing the best of his carear. The rest are a worry... as they take up space that would enable other players to have game time. When we played spurs...none of our lads would have made their team. If we have ambition then every buy must offer top six quality potential
