Ranieri.

Ha....  No it wasn't him.

Sadly it seems that he was behind the purchase

Well thats not true... Morgan was wanted by Newcastle, Mendy by some french clubs, Musa wanted on loan and possibly a couple of prem teams too have been sniffing round him... Ulloa and Shinji are the only players where there has been no public info given on interested teams but unless you Are part of the management structure at the club how can you be sure there isn't interest in those aswell?

not saying they're bad players... not saying there aren't people sniffing - but there haven't been any real buyers coming forward...   ...which is fine.  I don't want to see our squad pulled apart.  It's like the kasper situation: I don't believe any big clubs would want him... and so that works for us too.  he is welcome to stay with us.  But while we keep the larger part of the squad together I would expect to see new player with the  quality to realise our ambitions displacing there older players.  A few each six months or so

I think in Musa's case it would be different if he was playing in our first team on the left in our usual 4-4-1-1. We'd have Drinkwater, Fuchs, Mahrez & Maguire all capable of spotting his runs and picking him out.

Yesterday it was a combination of lots of sideways/backwards passing between King, Iborra & the defence. IMO the lack of adventurous balls came down to not only ability, but the way we set up. 3 in the middle just makes us so slow in attack and in the build up.

This means you need to be good in possession & we're not great obviously

We can be fantastic & unplayable in a fast transition, maybe Ndidi, Iborra & Drinky-or-James could make the 3 work, but it will most likely be a 2 because that's where we're more effective, but expressing yourself in a 2v3 isn't easy, while fast transitions are not only desirable but necessary

It may well seem that Shakespeare is confident that Amartey and Musa will be better equipped for next season, via learning the mistakes they made in the last (though the latter player has recently shown he's still making the errors that cost him game-time last season).

Not sure on James, too, his injury time out may well have cost him to persuade the management team that he's able to play regularly and consistently.

let me make this clear i never meant to include WES as one of the flops, he just fell income the end result. but going on his last part of the season and the fact he is still feeling the back , he well maybe be a flop. but he has been one of are best ever players and been one of my favorites.so iam sorry if i have ticked of fans on here,

Basically Morgan has been a great servant during his time here BUT he like all footballers, he is nearing his 'best before' date. The EPL graces some of the best strikers in the World and slow CB's will be picked off when playing up against these. Harry does need another younger non-hoofing partner, but Wes can still have a bit part to play for us, but not every match.

This really doesn't make any sense.

We haven't sold anyone of the core team as we put them on huge contracts that are usually given to stars and other clubs just won't pay them, with the exception of Kasper, Vardy or Mahrez

I don't think we actually need to sell that many Mendy, Armarty possibly Ulloa.

Slimani for the right fee?

With Mendy and Slimani I'm still hopefully they can prove to be valueable team players, Slimani at least anyway

heard Wes   was going to that donkey sanctuary in cornwall so doubt we would get much more than a cornish pasty for him

Heard you were being appointed the Duke of Banterbury as well to be fair.

I'm going to say something controversial here but I always wonder how/why we've kept hold of King for so long, good that he's stayed around for as long as he has but surely he must think about moving on to get some playing time.

He's only 28 so I'm very surprised that he hasn't thought about his career anymore, perhaps he's happy to be a bit part player.

When ever I see this thread my first thought is often, we sold our faceless assassin, the servant of the many faced god :o

It'd be like a mercy killing to let Ulloa go now. We have too many strikers & he's behind all but Musa...

I'll always love him for what he did for us in those first two seasons, but I can't get WBA away last season out of my mind!

Mendy has to go as soon as he can pass a medical somewhere...

As for the rest, it depends perhaps on who we lose but didn't want to lose. For example, Lawrence & Musa could be good enough to back up Albrighton & Gray should the worst happen. Then again, they might not be.,!

Good business letting Woods go and keeping Leo.  Even with hindsight, that still looks bad judgement.. Another one we let go on the cheap.

Ulloa is looking off the pace at the minute and is past his best but suggesting keeping him instead of Chris Wood was bad business is outrageous - Leo has scored some big goals for our club and stepped up big time when Vardy was suspended in our greatest season.

Yes it is outrageous. It has to be taken in context too. When we let Chris WOOD go (not Woods), he wasn't the player he is now. He looked slow and cumbersome and would probably struggle in the Prem, whereas Ulloa has been fine in the Prem an has scored some really important goals for the club.

Ulloa really is the scapegoat this pre-season though isn't he. The shite he's got on here over the past two weeks...well there ya go.

This isn't football manager, where you just press "offer to clubs" and it's job done...................

What? I thought that was actually a big red button with a scroll wheel with who to offer  .

We simply cannot keep 7 central midfielders, 5 wingers and 6 strikers all happy. It's too many. We need to lose 2 CM's, a winger and 1-2 strikers.

It's in Devon by the way. ?

Musa wanted on loan by WBA according to the Birmingham Mail, but only if there is an option to buy.

Might be a decent deal all round.
