Not saying that he has nothing to do with what happened, his agent didn't drag him by the ear!

Was just thinking that maybe his agent told him that a club was ready to pay the price tag, that's all!

Well, he could always try and hire another agent.

Seriously, how much more patient can you get?

The amount of times he's come across as being terribly ill-advised is staggering. Like a mindless puppet. I'm sure Riyad is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, but boy does he need a makeover in management.

I know footballers are known for being thick but I wonder when it dawned on Riyad that a club wasn't ready to pay the price tag...

I think its the best for everyone if he gets a high profile agent, a man that can get him his big move.

Hopefully he uses it for motivation instead of losing his confidence. The team needs him to play his best.

I hope he feel an embarassed by this transfer window and has a bit of a look at himself and realises that you have to consistently put in the hard work to interest the elite clubs. Hope he gets a bit of stick from the players and then moves on and puts in the sort of performances he's capable of

Am I the only one who is starting to feel sorry for him? :( hope this doesn't affect his play

He bought it upon himself, he only has himself to blame, poorly advised or not, he made choices, he agreed to decisions, he caused this shitstorm.

"a bit" is a big understatement.

Ah well, who hasn't (maybe not quite as publicly though)?

I'm sure he'll be forgiven if he knuckles down. If he sulks, play Gray.

Apologies if this has already been covered as I've missed the last hour but can Mahrez still move to a Spanish club tomorrow or has it been stated somewhere that's he's staying put?

You should take a look at twitter then! People are having a field day with him, he will be the punchline for many jokes for the years to come.

Feel sorry for him because.......?

handsomely paid by a team that bought him from obscurity and put him with players that he's won the league with and given him the platform to eventually move on to bigger things?

yeah my heart bleeds

The whole  RM business is really strange.

Lots of links with different clubs and looked nailed on to join Arsenal and supposedly  Roma plus a load of others such as Spurs Man U and Chelsea were mentioned. The club have said all along no bids had come in and that is clearly the case . He is a brilliant player and it seems incredible that no-one has gone for him . He needs to rebuild bridges now with the club and stop acting like an arse

Seem to remember people doing the same to Ronaldo after the Rooney red etc but he lived off the ridicule made him a better player hopefully so will Riyad. Haters gonna hate

The Roma bids were just a joke really.

If rumours are true and he’s gone all Odemwengi around Europe today, then that’s poor form. None the less, he’s a great player, the most skilful player we’ve ever had. I’ll still cheer him until at least January.
