If Roma have set that deadline it will be interesting to see if he turns up at training tomorrow if he is that desperate to go there.

Yes, there is. However, it has nothing to do with shirt sales, his team mates or his nationality. There is a doubt on Riyad as to whether he could replicate the 2015/2016 form. I will reiterate, as a fan who has watched him for few seasons, I think that doubt is wrong.

He (rightly so) has ambition to play for the elite of this world. There is nothing wrong with that. I want to reach the top of my profession. I am sure most on here have the same ambition. To do that his 2015/2016 form must be the norm.

The club cannot sell him on the cheap simply because, if he does replicate that form, we will look stupid. The player cannot replicate that form (consistently) until the side adapts fully to the loss of Kante who made up two players. In addition, the player cannot (again, consistently) replicate that form until he adapts to no longer being a unknown force.

But thing is the club is not asking for much when you see mediocre players like Paulinho going for that price tag

what stopped barca to keep interest in mahrez this summer is the returning if barca-formed player Gerard doleufou

hd he is now starting in barca vs RM supercup

I know. I'm watching and he hasn't impressed me at all thus far. But I'll shut up just in case he proves me wrong.

But he did play well vs United.

Barca is a mess right now. I dont get this hype of barca players claiming even the bench is too good for Mahrez. What did Doleufeo do other than a close pass where he could've attempted a shot

But Paulinho is? OK. Please explain to me the injustice of how mediocre players get unbelievable sums of money, and players who have had incredible seasons like Sofiane Hanni and Riyad Mahrez have not gathered any interest?

Again, I don't think Barca responsibles are racist towards Algerians. I just think that if he was called Mahrezinho there would be a bit more interest on him.

I am aware that Mahrez did not have the best season, but he had a pretty good champions league showing and he's just 26 years old. In this inflated market, why would no one be interested in last year's top7 ballon d'or nominee? Clearly there is something wrong here.

People don't like to pay tens of millions of £'s for someone who,

when the mood takes doesn't put it in.

Have you considered that as a possibility?

Add to that every week that goes by his best form gets

further and further away in the past.

Seriously, Marc right now can start for barca!

Slagging Albrighton off just makes you look like a fanboy, he is a decent player and caused Arsenal a lot of problems on Friday.

You can like Mahrez and appreciate players with different qualities.

Oh not at all, I like Marc a lot, he is one of my favourite players.

Just pointing out that barca isn't as stacked as people are making it to seem, didn't mention Marc to slate him or any thing, I was actually saying that he is good enough to start on that barca team ATM, and I said that with good will.

I wonder if Liverpool will go in for him if they sell Coutinho?

I think they will.

So we have Slimani and Mahrez's brother talking about Riyad's future in an hotel with a random Italian journalist  sat behind them, understanding french and hearing nicely the conversation to be able to quote 10 lignes of it. What a lucky guy isn't he ?

i have to admit, i do like seeing some of the Roma ans saying we should accept the bid from them, its kind of funny tbh, like theyd accept £10mill for Kevin Strooman or Dzeckolol

think we should just bid £10mil for them both for the reaction:ph34r:

Team staying at the landmark then - nice gaff!  That's the only significance applied to that article. Love the phrase  in quotes includes  'foxes'. Who the feck would say that I/o Leicester????

‘And eventually if no other offer turns up he will have to go there because he wants to quit the Foxes at all costs.

‘I repeat he will only go to Roma if no other clubs come knocking…’

That SO sounds like a genuine breakfast conversation....

I've said it before, I'll say it again, get rid. He's said he doesn't want to be here, the players and manager know he doesn't want to be here. We don't need this negativity in the dressing room. If we don't get rid now, we'll be having the same discussions on FT  in January, as we're having now. He was sh*t last season he was sh*t last night, it won't change, his hearts not in it. He wants to leave, accept it and move on. CS must be p****ed off with being asked about the Mahrez situation in every interview coz I am.

The thing is he's in an impossible position. Since he shot his mouth off, any indifferent performance will be thrown at him as being lazy, half arsed etc. He won't be granted the benefit of doubt or be excused for being off form.

So he needs to be blinding every game or feck off. Which is most likely?

That's an interesting point.

He should just have shut the fvck up. It has completely backfired and it's messing his head now. He was really poor against Arsenal, I was baffled by the amount of wrong decisions and the times he lost the ball in the first half. One cross flew to litterally nowhere. He did "get" the third goal but it won't make up for his poor performance.

He's not going anywhere, not any of his wishes will be fullfilled this window. Roma would be a mistake. He's at a crossroad: either he raises his level this season with us and can wish for a move next summer or he's very likely to completely fade away and ruin his career.
