To someone who would then just punt it aimlessly upfield.

I know. This is the whole problem - we've not changed.

Seems like Mahrez's agent has offered him to Barcelona.

It would make sense for Barca to end up with Mahrez. With two weeks left on the mercato, Dembele and Coutinho are going to cost an arm and a leg, especially because clubs know how desperate Barcelona is for a replacement for Neymar.

Plus Messi stated his admiration for Mahrez, so it wouldn't be such a bad signing if it were to happen.

Sell him to Roma for whatever they've offered. At this stage I just want rid of him. The bloke doesn't want to be here

Strange to see him celebrating our goals the other night - he looked happy enough when things were going well but point taken that he needs to show graft when it's tough.

Re a midfielder who will put their foot on the ball and find a team mate - I think that's mendy and have you noticed how quiet his prospective move has gone since drinky was linked with Chelsea .....

Why is that funny? Andy King is the perfect player (at our disposal) to bring on to see out a game, should we wish to go down that route.

It's funny because it's so sad that after 3 years in the premier league away to Arsenal our best option to see out a first win in decades is to bring on Andy King.

If he is still a player after window closes, he will be benched and be an impact sub

A graduate of the Rudkin School of Negotiation.

It's not ideal is it but it's blatantly obvious Roma arnt going to pay 50 million for him. Take the hit let him go abroad and be done with it. No one else wants him.

can you imagine how the lads sitting on the bench feel? He's stated in public he doesn't want to play for us anymore and there he is starting the first game of the season moping about the pitch. I'd honestly rather have an inferior player starting who wants to be there.

What the actual f**k? Barca signed Paulinho for £36.5M.

If Mahrez doesn't get a bid, this is just proof that nationality plays a big role in the transfer market

I don't think it makes much sense to buy RM and play him as a left winger.

Granted he has become limited. But who do you expect to have on the bench that will be happy to predominantly come on and see out a game?

Let's say his role at the club is to come on, put his on the ball and keep it simple, why is that such a problem just because it's Andy King?

He is not terrible at all.

I may be proved wrong time will tell but i'm sorry Mahrez would struggle to get on Barca's bench!

Look we all know he can be great, too good for Leicester but last season he did himself no favours, now i've said he can be great which he can but even on his best form I don't see him as good enough for Barca, i'm sorry but he'd need to be on his best form just to get on their bench.

I’m kind of with you on this... I can guarantee they have someone in their B team who is already as good as if not better than Riyad.

Having said that I’d be pretty proud if any leicester player ended up there

Kante dreamed of chelsea..... his mistake was not to dream higher.  Kante could go to real or barca.

Mahrez is not old... but he needs to keep his development  going.... he is not going to start for Barcelona as he is.... and his performance did not improve last season or last friday.

See if i am wrong.... but i dobt think he will go to a top six club here... and doubt he will ever be at barca.

It's up to him.... icarus?

I don't know how people understand football not taking into account the necessary ingredients that a player like mahrez need to excel another season with more alerted and prepared adverse teams

how can he excels with Simpson and average players surrounding him

give mahrez a carvachal and a Kroos or ozil he give a EPL title or messi of Ronaldo stats

simple as  that

Top teams dont seem to have your confidence in him at the moment

Okay but Paulinho with his 11 goals in 67 games at Tottenham is good enough for Barcelona?

I'm not interested in whether he is or isn't, that Barca's concern, but i'm discussing Mahrez.

Nationality is a massive factor in clubs signing players for the biggest clubs. James Rodriguez was a prime example of this for Real Madrid. They massively overpaid, but there is a massive population of Colombians in Spain and they knew there would be a thirst for shirts with his name on. Basically more than paid for his transfer fee in that alone.
