langtonfox Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 Danny Murphy saying Mahrez is too good for Leicester made my blood boil! We won the league, how good do we have be?

foxfanazer Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 Pay no attention to the irrelevant sack of shit. What does he know about being too good for a club?
leicesterlad1989 Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 Whether we want to accept it or not, Mahrez is destined to bigger and better things. He is one of a few players at the club who should be playing regular top 6 football. Wouldnt take it to heart.
st albans fox Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 Having watched the programme five mins ago I understand what he is saying. however, somewhere like Arsenal where the mental status of their players is miles behind ours? It needs to be on all levels and as such as a top European outfit or Chelsea/Man U here would suffice. He stands out too much in our side at the moment when he is on his game. we need to see where we are when other players are fit as we may change the way we play a little to help him.

If he plays like he did yesterday game in game out he will be playing regular top 6 football. With us!
leicesterlad1989 Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 Just now, FIF said: If he plays like he did yesterday game in game out he will be playing regular top 6 football. With us! That's exactly what I hope for. Although this was against an awful Brighton team. Lets see what Mahrez turns up next week. Theres no reason why we shouldnt aspire for the top 6 if we keep Mahrez.
Fox92 Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 Please not talk about positions yet. Yesterday we were comfortable and there will probably not be another game like that all season. Under Shakespeare last season we beat sides such as Watford, Hull etc at home comfortably but never looked good against the better sides (Liverpool aside). We won't finish top 8.

We won the league in 15/16. We are in 17/18 currently. I think what he meant is Mahrez could and should be playing top 6 football and we cannot provide that for him.
VLC86 Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 Imagine getting wound up by this. If he leaves he will go on to play at a higher level than what we currently do so he has a valid point to be honest but he's still a Leicester player so I couldn't care less what the pundits say.

deep blue Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 He was probably just trying to wind up Gary - and it visibly worked!

We could get top 6 however it's clear Mahrez is after European football and the big stage more regular. It's not being negative to suggest we can't offer him that. I think we all want to keep him but some accept his desires to play at a higher level.
RODNEY FERNIO Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 He said exactly the same thing about Mahrez last year ... why are you muppets starting to bite now? Also why do you care what Danny Murphy says ?
rn9013 Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 As much as I would love to keep Mahrez, largely because he's by far the most gifted player to have ever played in a Leicester shirt for me, he needs to be playing champions league football. He's too good not to be. It has been a privelage watching the guy do his stuff over the last few years, but this is one of those times the club should do the right thing and help him achieve his potential. Of course the club have set a fair asking price, so this needs to be achieved, but once it is everything should be done to make sure it happens if it's what Mahrez wants.
Countryfox Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 He also said he needs 'better' players round him .... what a fvckin insult to our club, team and players .... that p1ssed me off more than anything else .... cvnt.
dedlock Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 Despite the context being mildly disparaging of our beloved club the point was a good one,Mahrez needs to play at a higher level with better players regularly to test himself. The problem DM did not address is that despite Riyad announcing weeks ago his wish to leave no so called big club has ,made an offer or an acceptable offer. I hope none is made in the next 11 days.
Always Next Year Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 And Murphy will be part of the 3 person panels that review diving and other antics, is he all they can find.
jayfox26 Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 Got to love Lineker though when he turned round to Murphy and said "has Coutinho outgrown Liverpool"

Trav Le Bleu Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 Because little Leicester need to know their place. The status quo must be maintained and no team can ever better themselves. Is the basic gist.
SkidsFox Posted 20 August 2017 Posted 20 August 2017 I still can't work out why Barcelona are not interested, particularly after having their bids for Coutinho knocked back.
