I find the thread rumbles a tremendous source of amusement bud, I muse get out more! Imo it's been a very good window, decent money for Drinky, gem in Maguire, Silva ans Iheanacho could be special, Iborra solid and Drago I don't know enough about to comment. Looks decent business though :)

Aye. Can't complain. It won't be long until we see how they do.

I like the idea of both Iborra and Silva being playmakers, but worry they might both be off the pace in the Prem. Fingers crossed they'll be so adept with the ball at feet that pace won't be a problem.

Not bothered about the argument but I always felt that my ticket money was worth it every time I saw Cambiasso. His brain seemed seconds ahead of anyone else on the pitch and never seemed flustered. How many times did we see him call for the ball and with one quick touch it was flicked on with pinpoint accuracy. To say that he was at the tail end of his career it makes you wonder what he'd have been like in the Premiership 6 or 7 years earlier. A Rolls Royce of a player who I felt privileged to watch in a Leicester shirt.

Absolutely right. Imagine him watching him play when he was in his mid 20's! My argument with him at Leicester was always that his legs had (mostly) gone. So much so, that oncoming players would run past him at will.

But on the ball....lovely to watch. I'm hoping Silva will look to be that type of player.

Silva will be a good signing but he's no Cambiaso. I expect him to do the holding role with Iborra and NDiddi doing the running and getting forward.

Because they're better players I expect us to be less over run in midfield.I'd like to see us play Gray and Mahrez wise with Vardy in the middle Especially when we're trying to get back into games.

I do fancy a good Cup Run this season.

Have we resigned Dennis Wise?...

When did that happen?

Mahrez,  Wise and Vardy won't work IMO.

Some of the things that man did with the football was incredible. One sticks in my head, outside of the boot pass to vardy, curved around the defender to set him through, was just majestic to watch him play

Don't mention that little BOLX

No, it wouldn't work I expect Vardy would kill the little C--T.

Clearly a typo.

I really hope not, Iborra isn't mobile enough, he's the man to sit in front of the defence as that was his role at Sevilla. His attacking stats get warped because he was used in forward areas as an emergency and because of his size he got a lot of goals and assits with flicks and headers. N'didi is dynamic and he makes things happen when going forward, but his creativity pales into insignificance compared to Silva.

I expect a very similar pairing as DD and N'didi where they share responsibility for both defence and attack, but Silva will be the one prodding and probing like DD did for us. Really excited to see Silva, as I think the potential is there to be an upgrade on what we had IF he can settle and the pace of the league doesn't ruin him like it has others.

In a modern 442 with a CM pairing I'd be looking to see if I could play Iborra as a 4 and Silva as an 8 with two wingers either side. Harsh on Ndidi but that's what I'd like to see when everybody is fit!

So on the right hand picture Iborra to sit in front of the back four, Silva in front etc...

I haven't seen enough of either Iborra or Silva yet to decide best options. I just assumed that as Iborra looks more mobile than silva that he would do the running along with NDiddi.

I do think that we will now move to a 3 or even a 4 in midfield with Albrighton to give us more of a grip on games, and I also would like to see us go 3 up top Gray Vardy Mahrez. or Vardy and Mahrez with Albrighton in a midfield 4.  But other than for defensive reasons I'd prefer to go 4 3 3 with the 3 up top.

This would push teams back to begin with but also provide a more potent attacking force while being backed up by the Midfield. I just hope that these new lads are also able to tackle which is such a part of the English game. if they can do that then we're in for more happy times and a good cup run.

It's the other way around.  Silva is the box to box hard running player.

I hope so anyway.  Iborra may be a good player but about as mobile as the clock tower.

I think the window has been excellent.  Could have been even better if some of our targets like Smalling and Siggy wanted to come but we can't help that.  WOuld have liked to see some more off the pay roll such as Ulloa and Musa but all in all top business.

After the previous summer window, good to see that he didn't make a complete Rudkin of himself and Rudkin the whole the thing up by buying players that were absolute Rudkin.

Not really aurprising that the owners love him when he can ship someone for £35m and get an able replacement for £22m

Hes a businessman just like they are, imagine he’ll be here for a long while yet.

i would like to see a new head of youth though, feel its vital!

Thing is he isn't a business man  by trade which just shows the guy needs a break from all the abuse.

Quite right, He's having to learn on the job. Not a bad thing if he has the willingness to learn and the capacity to think outside the box. The fact that he has Coaching qualifications is an added bonus in the Industry.

I think last years purchases were more to do with Claudio just as I think this years are more to do with Shakey. I'm sure Rudkin has an input but his main brief is to negotiate the terms of the Contract like Salary etc.

As someone who followed a similar route to the top finishing up as company ceo, I can fully empathize with Rudkin. like many others, I felt that the job should have gone to Walsh. But maybe the Owners identified something in him which afforded him the opportunity he now has, and good luck to him and his Family. It's a job after all and a good one, and it looks as if he's going to be here for a long time, so he deserves our respect for the job he's done this Window. Long may it Continue.

Onwards and Upwards we go.
