Obviously there is some hypocrisy going on but at the same time - advocating to perpetrate violence while also complaining about violence are some incredible mental gymnastics by Bobby.

Same goes for Putins genocidal war on Ukraine. I'm very much opposed to it and I wish Russia would lose while paying a hefty price but you won't find me actively chanting for the death of soldiers, a lot of whom were simply dragged out of their families' home, drafted and sent into the meatgrinder to please their maniac of a leader. We're no better if we start dehumanising one/ the other side just because we feel we're in a morally superior position.

It's true that dehumanising fellow humans rarely ends well.

However, the question then arises whereby exactly how do you work towards a less tribal world where that dehumanising does not occur (as must be done) without likewise dehumanising those who want to retain the status quo?

There is an extremely high chance that will be a secession event, civil war or total neofascist takeover (not just the diet version like at present), or combination of all of them, in the US in the next decade.

And its effects will be felt everywhere.

I just hope that I can come back to this in around that time and say that I was wrong, though.

Get your money on, people. Value bet looking better by the day.

What is the solution to preventing this?

Enough of a win against the current incumbents at the ballot box ASAP to hamstring further legislative changes and so prevent more "direct action" by those wanting to disregard the whole process which may then escalate things would likely be the most optimal way forward, but of course that carries risks of its own. It would likely be the best bad course of a whole series of bad courses, unless someone else has any bright ideas.

Edit: As per my OP though, I really really hope that I'm wrong, for many reasons.

Agree. A split along former civil war boundaries is underpriced. The old fault lines never went away

Multi millionaire liar Fartage is not one of the ordinary people, he will sell off the NHS to his orange american buddies and will frack and strip mine the UK to the point of destruction.

Hows he getting away with it, by telling suckers he`s just like them.

p.s just a couple of weeks ago he made 5 million after being given very unlikely planning permission to develope a seaside property, just like you and me.

He doesn’t need to do anything - Starmer and his buddies are handing reform the next election on a plate - unfortunately.

ps this is the wrong thread, it’s not unpopular that Farage is a pillock

Problem with British politics is that British voters still think we're a wealthy country and we simply need to redistribute that wealth away from people who don't deserve it. Hence the enduring appeal of Farage, Corbyn, Scottish Indy etc.

That's pretty reactionary Tommy don't you think?

There's 4 years left still for starters, no-one knows what will happen in that time and how things will change.

Every week or so that passes they are exposing themselves/losing councillors. They literally don't know what they are doing. People will soon be re-evaluating their choices when Reform are making decisions that affect things at the local level. Do you really think people in Leics will be clamouring for Farage as PM after 4 years of a 22 year old running adult social care? I don't.

People are clamouring for Farage as PM after Brexit so I don't think local council issues are really going to make a difference

Because Reform have been sat criticising from the sidelines and are offering "reform".

I think people where Reform have seats will soon realise they won't affect the change they promise and people will either notice things locally staying more or less the same or even get worse.

Brexit has resulted in lower growth and higher immigration and still people want to vote for Nigel Farage because they're angry about those things. I'm sorry but I don't see how council seats will make a difference to their popularity. People will just blame the left or something. What it needs is cult deprogramming.

I personally think reform would be a disaster - I’m reflecting on how well they emerged at the last GE, and the mood music since.

If you don’t think there is a chance they will get a majority at the next GE you are daft, especially when the immigration crisis is getting worse not better.

Elite women football teams (such as I've seen over the past few days) would be beaten by your average Sunday league men's team.

Nothing will change, we don’t make the rules anymore.

Probably not an unpopular opinion. Women’s sides get comprehensively beaten by male youth sides e.g u16s

Jaws is a shite film.

The script is crap.

The acting is rubbish.

The only thing decent and unique at the time was the rubber "shark" .

The music soundtrack became iconic, but there's nothing else good about it.

Basically labour have 4 years to reduce illegal immigration and also improve cost of living dramatically, or we're going to witness farage destroy everything in his path as the worst excesses of capitalism on steroids is let loose on us all.

Which is true but also utterly irrelevant.

They're different sports. Like male and female tennis.

Men and women are physiologically different. Obviously men would beat women, what's the point here? The best female players are the best players in the world in their sport. Participation has increased dramatically in the last decade so the quality should improve too but that's no point comparing apples and oranges.

The dimensions of goals were created to suit the male goalkeeper. Women are smaller. So obviously they will find it harder to reach the top corners. But you still get boring blokes complaining about female goalkeepers.

This subject bothers me as I've coached female football. My daughter has played it. I cannot stand the type of guy that goes on social media to make stupid points about young guys beating adult women. Like, so what? It's irrelevant.

Just wondering then why every single apples match on tv always has a female oranges expert on to give her advice??

Strange because you wouldn’t have a snooker expert on to talk about cricket as they are totally different sports.

I’m not convinced at all that those things will stop people voting Farage tbh. Farage will always move the goalposts and always finds one more reason to talk Britain down or one more institution to go after.
