Yeah I also got banned for stating that a lot of people on the left cry the generic buzz word “racism” when someone slightly right of centre dare give there opinion on the current state of the country…. “The far right” is another common un- justified coined phrase from the left aswell 😂

My counter to that would be that parties on the right are currently adopting BNP policies. They are far right policies. What's your reason for saying it's unjustified?

Semantic inflation is a real problem

My counter to that is alot of the said adopted policies would work well. The country is far too consumed with woke, liberal, fairyland politics and behaviour. The screaming of far right is boring and losing any form of meaning due to its constant over-use for things that aren’t in anyway far right. Anyone would think adolf hitler is running around the UK preaching about the Aryan Race 🤦‍♂️

As someone who is bang neutral as you could get I have never seen anyone here on "the left" openly call some racist for simply putting an opinion forward.

They usually just call them a Tommy Robinson supporter or Reform voter

But that's borderline playground stuff? Most of these tedious left / right arguments just end up with folk moaning about people reacting with laugh emojis anyway

On the general topic being discussed, this is still an unpopular opinion:

Nationalism is the puerile veneration of real estate above principles and a fundamental weakness of the human race, with (intentional or not) zero regard for the future outside the smallest worldview. And too often it is cloaked the guise of "patriotism".

Oh, and it's responsible for a truly massive level of unnecessary death and suffering.

True but does feel like people use those tags as a substitute for calling someone racist outright

Because you're not allowed to do that, as several on here could testify, even though the words they used were implicit.

The only -ism I condone is speciesism (though this doesn't mean other species can be exploited or abused).

Heck, I don't even support realism.

Oh, I'll happily advocate for the total eradication of certain clades of mosquito due to the harm they cause humans.

And there you go again, being a realist!

I don't mind them because it means I can go and get a drink or snack which is precisely why I hate them, because it's turning me into an American 'sports' fan.

Why stop at quarters why not have 2 ad breaks per half? So 6 blocks of 15 minutes? And unlimited substitutions. Maybe make the goals a bit bigger? How about 2 balls on the pitch at the same time?

Sounds like added time mutli-ball!

Foreign managers shouldn't be allowed in International Football. International football is supposed to be a showcase of each country's best talent including the manager. I still wanted England to win the world cup with Tuchel, but I stand by the point that national team managers should have to be of those countries.

This would be fine if there wasn’t huge distortion with players changing allegiances so freely. Curaçao having all bar one player born elsewhere but then forced to use a 57 year old from there with a CONCACAF 25m swimming badge is incongruent.

I’d inhibit players from playing for their grandparent’s nation personally and I’d impose a hard cap on any nationally change at say, 21.

Diamond Lights is a genuinely good song. If it were by Tears for Fears or Depeche Mode instead of Hoddle and Waddle it would be an 80s new wave classic rather than a bit of a punchline to a joke.

I agree, but it is a disgrace that they went by 'Glenn and Chris' and not 'Hoddle and Waddle', which was an absolute tap in.

These Jaecoo 4x4's are bit like new builds.

Some people pay good money for them, only to be near to someone who gets it given to them because they either can't be arsed to work or suffer from mild anxiety etc.

Look alright cars to be fair, but wouldn't touch one now.

I'm all for helping people that need it, but they definitely don't need top of the range, brand new cars, when many people who work very hard are stretched to buy a decent used car.
