Think specifically for me it's the insecurity of rugby fans who have to relentlessly compare it to football. Played by real men obviously.

There is a small band of people who give it the whole 'you wouldnt see that in football' when no-one even mentioned football, which is a bit annoying.

Saying that, the vast majority of rugby fans are sound, most are also football fans anyway.

Only thing I compare from the two sports is the respect between players and officials and the significantly higher care for head injuries than football does

I’m convinced nobody actually likes rugby and those that do are just saying that they do.

When you get a good game, rugby is great. It's fast-paced, chaotic, end-to-end and can be very dramatic. I feel like in many cases now though, games are being spoiled by petty refereeing decisions and an excessive amount of kicking.

If you watch rugby league you only have the refereeing to spoil it 😁

Don't mind it for promotion, it's when they decide the winners of the league like in Rugby that they are a joke. Team that finishes top should be crowned champions.

It's two separate things in rugby league.

The league leaders shield and the grand final winner.

Not sure if it's the same in union as I don't follow it.

Still don't like it as the Grand Final winner is still declared champions. So it would be the same as the premier league finishing Man City first, followed by Arsenal, Man Utd and Newcastle. Man City get a little shield to say well done for being top over a grueling season, then they play the play offs over a couple of games and Newcastle win and get handed the trophy and are declared national champions. Load of rubbish.

This season here being a good example

And this League one another example. Catalan get a shield  St Helens are champions

I get it with what you are saying as I follow rugby league. It's because they have random loop fixtures and the magic weekend the games, to some teams this is almost unfair as such. Some teams play bigger teams more than twice in the league format so they include the knock outs to the grand final.

But again it's a different sport and can't compare it with football. They are looking at taking promotion and relegation out of the sport again from 2 years time!

Thing that gets me is that people are quick to point to the blood on the hands of the owners of Man City and Newcastle (rightly so, they’re scum), but everyone conveniently overlooks that Reynolds murdered or played a role in the murders of 282 individuals across two very public Deadpool films.

One rule for Middle Eastern royal despots, yet another for white working class actors, apparently.

Not to forget he murdered the green lantern too

The Fighting Cock forum has some genuinely amusing posters.

Of course, I'm only visiting when Spurs have taken a beating but still.  Their gallows humour is better than ours.

Our gallows humour used to be brilliant before everything turned into a boring Rodgers related post, even now he's gone.

I am aware of the irony of this post.

The irony of calling it insecurity when most Wendyball snowflakes can be sent in to a tailspin by putting a picture of a footballer rolling around on the floor next to a rugby player playing on with his legs duct taped on is just /chefskiss.

I love both sports pretty much equally. I find pretty much anyone that acts like they're somehow rivals to be insufferably boring.

But I'd definitely describe it far more as elitism from a section of rugby's fanbase and far, far more "insecurity" from a particular type of football fan, not the other way around.

Thank god that's going. Don't really have a problem with P and R going - think the sport in the UK needs some settling down period. Fev will go up this year easy. I don't think many clubs will get the top license anyway.
