lgfualol Posted 21 October 2017 Posted 21 October 2017 Thank god. We looked pretty good. Cant tell if it was Leicester being good because Craigs gone, Swansea being shit or Appleton being god.

They play Sheff Utd on Friday evening whereas we have, effectively, a days extra rest as we're not playing on Saturday. Presumably their squad won't be as strong as today's.
Loves2spooge Posted 21 October 2017 Posted 21 October 2017 was a bit Disappointed due to the changes like bringing King (seemed like it dragged the team more than it helped it ) or Gray so late (lad couldn't do shiz) , wanted to see some slimani action too especially with all the crosses we were getting but we couldn't find a good header but one has to understand our next game is in 3 days on Tuesday against Leeds and we do need to win that carabao cup

David Hankey Posted 21 October 2017 Posted 21 October 2017 A very much welcome result but it just highlights how fickle the players can be.

He played Okazaki's role well. No complaints with that sub. Same with Gray, nothing wrong with wasting a bit of time with the Mahrez sub. I wouldn't say we 'need' to win the League Cup. The FA Cup is the one to get but I wouldn't even say that's a priority either.
Vacamion Posted 21 October 2017 Posted 21 October 2017 Anyone who didn’t see the game, Riyad Mahrez got underneath a ball coming down from low earth orbit, with a storm whipping wind and rain around him, and he trapped the ball perfectly. Sublimely. It was a piece of control that you half expect from him, but it made me expostulate a “Whooooaaaah”. It was part of a performance which included being key to both goals, being at the heart of our attacks, tracking back and defending. Mahrez is back, baby. If he plays like this he will be gone in the New Year, so let’s enjoy him while we can.

I didn't say they were bad subs , just that it seemed clear that from the 65' we went full defensive and that can work just fine like today , but it could've gone like Arsenal earlier this season
Chico1958 Posted 21 October 2017 Posted 21 October 2017 I'm pushing my luck here but good day down here We beat Swansea and Cardiff do Boro one happy Welsh Fox

Couldn't quite get past the other but the way we played today suited him to a tee. He found so much space at times.

We sat back a little but that paved the way to play how we like to - on the counter. It worked as the defence soaked up the pressure, Ndidi and Iborra especially protected them in doing so as well as setting up attacks or feeding the ball to King, Okazaki or Vardy.

I don't understand where the second half of your sentence comes from. Have you got some inside information that previously the players weren't trying. Highlight your evidence please. Well done Leicester on a good, much needed win.
Guest Posted 21 October 2017 Posted 21 October 2017 We beat a very poor team thanks to a lot of luck. Iborra my motm, Maguire and Shinji did well. The rest were still ho-hum imo. Big change of team and attitude for the Leeds game I hope. Need a tactition to take over and bring in a team who can coach.
yorkie1999 Posted 21 October 2017 Posted 21 October 2017 41 minutes ago, StanSP said: that was simply lovely! Okazaki, Iborra, Mahrez the standouts. Okazaki for his usual self. Iborra was a class above any other midfielder on the pitch. Ran the show from the middle of the park. Got the tackles in as was calm in possession in tricky spots. The kind of performance you would want from him. Mahrez showed us what we've been wanting as well. Had a hand in both goals. The other notable mention would be for King when he came on playing in more of an advanced role and supporting Vardy whilst trying to control the game. Definitely suits a midfield 3 as we all know and not in a defensive manner. Pleased with his performance too. Just hope we can build on it as Everton are there for the taking next Sunday. Good shot sir
Ted Maul Posted 21 October 2017 Posted 21 October 2017 Great 3 points, we needed that. Sounded like we started on the front foot, which is what we have been screaming out for since the start of the season. Always like putting Swansea back in their box as well, they seem to have a bit of an irrational hatred towards us. I know every knobhead and his dog hates us these days, but they always have

Redouane Posted 21 October 2017 Posted 21 October 2017 I don't see what Appleton was thinking subbing off mahrez after his performance. This is not how you rebuild his confidence
Foxxed Posted 21 October 2017 Posted 21 October 2017 Vardy's performance was interesting. Morgan once said Vardy was one of the most vocal players - in constant banter with Ranieri. He was perhaps vocal towards Ranieri's end of tenure too. And you could see how much more motivated he was under Shakespeare and how unmotivated he was in this match. If he's not only a great striker but also the main influence a manager needs to win over I'd rather have Shinji and Kelechi up front.

The ship looked a lot more settled with him in the middle. I loved the way he looked up, saw a player in a black shirt and passed to him. Something thats been missing in our games lately
