Gray ready to sign a new deal

Glad to hear it. Think everyone has known for a long time what a talent he is. Just needs to match the talent with graft and awareness like he did yesterday.

I might get ripped for this but if (and it's a big if!) he can play even close to that level regularly then he could get himself on that flight to Russia next summer. I honestly think he has that level of potential.

PS in hindsight, I think the club may have played a blinder by keeping on the fringes rather than putting him in every week. Imho it's made him work harder and perhaps want it that little bit more.

I don't think that's saying a lot tbh. I don't think you have to have much potential at all to be in the England. I'm not being tongue in cheek, there are some shockingly average players that are picked for years.

Unfortunately for Gray though, it doesn't matter if he's the best player in England for the next 7 months, he still might not go because he only plays for Leicester.

He needs to stop the wasteful long shots though.

i wouldn't stop them. Just reduce them. His decision making will hopefully improve with time. I won't ever want to stop someone from having a go at a goal but there are times where the better option is to pass.

Extremely impressed with him yesterday. I'm well on board with this if that's what he truly has got up his sleeve.

He tried one after about three minutes yesterday and you think... here we go again lol but for our first he made a perfect pass, I was worried he was going to undo it all by launching a ridiculous shot at them but he got that one spot on.

Puel has quite a track record of developing younger players so I really hope this works out.

Yeah, you're right. As you say, it'll improve with time.

He shoots because he has the ability to score from range plus defenders and goalies expect him to, then all of a sudden he pops in a pass like yesterday and we open them up. Teams won’t know how to handle him now. If we, as fans, can see an obvious pass, I’m sure professional footballers can

In some ways I think that scoring against us for Birmingham was the worst thing that could have happened. He's been trying to reproduce it ever since. Comes off about 1 in 10/20. Looks much better when he uses his colleagues.

If true, would imply CP has already told him he's part of his plans.

Like Vardy, Drinkwater and Maguire? If our players are good enough they get picked, simple as that.

he wants to be playing regularly and not just be a bit player and for that he needs to keep his form but mostly his work ethic up and remember he is part of a team where he can shine if he does his bit but it is not just about individual brilliance from him but also about team play and creating chances for the team and his team mates like he did with the goal against everton. if he does that then the plaudits and everything else will come for him.

I think he does it because he wants to prove he has the ability and wants to make an impact but obviously he isn't going to find the top corner every time, once he has a more settled place in the starting 11, I doubt he will try them so often

I've always thought that with the odd cameo he gets he feels he needs to do something to impress in the short time he's on the pitch. He been woefully underused since he's been here and I'm impressed that we've got a new manager in whose been here five minutes and has already tried to get his best players on the pitch of which Gray is one.

A front three of Gray, Mahrez and Vardy has the potential to be as good as anything in this league IMO.

Leicester City need to keep Gray. He is certainly one who has a bright future at the Club.

You have to remember how old Gray is and the fact he still has a lot to learn. He has massive potential and this news is encouraging after a period of turmoil.

if only it was as simple as that. If you can explain how Albrighton & Simpson have never been called up then i might be with you. Your cant tell me that the top 4 and their 'shirt sellers' arent favoured? I would pretty much name the England squad for the world cup now!
