Wymsey Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 ESPN say we've made an enquiry about his availability. http://www.espn.co.uk/football/manchester-united/story/3252145/michael-carrick-wants-united-stay-despite-leicester-west-brom-interest-sources With Silva set to finally play not too far in time now, this would be rather pointless imo. He'd be more suited at WBA, alongside another football veteran in Gareth Barry etc.
rico Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 'Carrick finds himself behind Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera in the United midfield' Yet still doesn't want to leave?
winteriscoming Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 Never been a fan - just seems to pass sideways or backwards and we have enough of those players here already.
weller54 Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 It's a no from me... But quite liked him in 'Ace'..and the song 'How Long '.
Wes Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 Great player but not sure we need him with Iborra settling in and Silva able to play in Jan
lgfualol Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 Do we need another CM? Let alone a slow aging one.
norwichfox Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 Let's not get in West Brom's way if they want him.....
Bryn Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 Some people have got incredibly short memories when you think of the success we've had bringing in experienced players with exceptional attitudes. Solano, Powell, Wasyl?

Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 Why are we getting linked to past it midfielders? Owen Hargreaves next
murphy Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 With Iborra, Silva and Ndidi, we don't need Carrick. Especially as we may get Mendy back as he has history with Puel.
Maggie's town fox Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 Never gonna happen, he won't leave Manure whilst he is nicely building his retirement pot, besides why would we want a 36 year old with no pace, we are building on youth so better off with Harvey Barnes for the future, also some very good under 23's that I can see breaking through, ie George Thomas.
Ted Maul Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 We've gone from being absolutely incensed about our midfield options to not wanting one of the best midfielders in the PL over the past decade, all in the space of about 10 days. Proper Foxestalk, that.
DelBoy73 Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 Are we after all the Manure elderly rejects ? What's next, a link with Cantona ?

Proper Foxestalk, that. To be fair, I think the phrase 'over the past decade' says it all. His best days are (well) behind him, and even if we need a new midfielder in January we should be looking for someone with their best days in front of him.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 Really good player but think we're OK with Ndidi, Iborra, Silva and James. Unless we want to play 3 in midfield then he may be worth looking as since we'd rather not have to play King or Amartey
jammie82uk Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 Always thought it was a strange decision for Jose to make him captain at the start of the season
