Swarles Barkley Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 Thought we should have a thread on things the players do on the pitch that make absolutely no sense to you. This isnt meant to be a thread to actively criticise but rather opinions on tiny matters during a game and would otherwise go unnoticed An example of this personally would be against Man city. Stones just went off injured, had a 5 min stoppage. We have been camped in our own half for the whole of the first half and have a throw in on the LHS. New CB comes on in Mangala whose hardly played and a recently returning kompany. A great opportunity for Fuchs to launch it in the box. What we do, take it short Another would be Liverpool in the Carabao cup. Final minute of the first half. We have played completely shit for 45mins but have a free kick just inside their half. We are playing with 2 giant strikers against a defence who cant defende free kicks. What does the free kick taker do, take it short
jamesmilner Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 On the throw in , Fuchs throw in was sh*t to Harry and was IMO the right choice done wrong , he keeps bombing in these throw ins but with no return .
weller54 Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 That we're still playing Andy King... That we gave Ulloa a new contract.....
m4DD0gg Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 Hmm where to start: 1) Over 50m spent on two donkeys up front. 2) Silva situation. 3) Rudkin still in a job. 4) Shakespeare being given the job. 5) Only having one recognized right back. 6) Andy King. 7) Most of our transfers the last 2 summers. 8) Ulloa and James new contracts. 9) NFP at the feeder club.
Aus Fox Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 Just a question and I could be wrong here, but has he delivered a long throw since Puel took over?

TBF neither "donkey" has been given an extended run in the team. Shakespeare earnt a go at the top job after results last season - didn't lose a game to a non top 6 side. Amartey has looked good at RB every time he has played there. Andy King has been trusted by manager after manager clearly. Doing something right! A true club legend who deserves ore respect. James deserved. New contract and has played well this season when asked to do a job. When fit again will play the role Albrighton did yesterday with more success, until Silva is available.
davieG Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 99% of our throw ins are crap. We might just as well give the opposition the ball directly which we do a lot anyway. Do they ever practice them?

09bballer Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 Was it in 2015-16 when we used to leave 3 men on the halfway line when defending corners? Maybe not 3 but there were times yesterday when 2 on the halfway line would have given Man City something to think about. Why not leave mahrez and vardy further up?
Tielemans63 Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 Bringing on Islam Slimani when we hadn't put in a decent cross all game.
urban.spaceman Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 I miss the "Funny Things Schlupp Does" thread. Come home Jeff.

Stadt Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 "Substitution for Leicester City number 19, Islam Slimani replacing number 11, Marc Albrighton."
Otis Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 We have possession around the halfway line but can't see a pass forward, so pass it back to Kasper to hoof it hoping one of our players gets on the end of it.
Otis Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 Freekicks just inside the opponents half that are invariably passed sideways or backwards. Why not just launch it into the box.

This worked well and I don't know why we stopped. It winds my up when we bring everyone back to defend corners especially when we are losing. So negative!
Tielemans63 Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 Buy a decent young player like Iheanacho and not have a clear idea of how to use him.
winteriscoming Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 Why don't we leave vardy up front when we are defending a corner? It would mean they would have to have at least 2 defenders with vardy.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 No chance this thread won't turn sour...

weller54 Posted 19 November 2017 Posted 19 November 2017 One of the most nonsensical things that's ever happened was the banning of Rachel match day threads.... Things haven't gone our way since!
