Perhaps a blessing in disguise.

An area where the weakest point is, despite him being a reliable player overall.

Just hope we get a decent deal for someone better and not at an inflated price as possible.

Simpson is a good right back.

Amartey is young, quick, strong, cracking trainer and character, a better footballer than Simpson, just a little inexperienced.

Maguire can play well in that position.

Seems the club have this position in hand.

Why do so many on here demand for multiple un-named solutions?

How many options can you expect in a 25 man squad?

2 people that can play right back.

We have 30 people at the club that could fill in and do a job at right back.

We should have at least 2 specialist players for each position.

fúck it, lets just put morgan at right back and see what happens....

Tried that in the championship as cover if I remember right, and it wasn’t great as he’s a centre back.

This what makes me laugh when people slag off amartey and draga, both centre half’s, being asked to play right back, but both players strengths are centre back, so will look uncomfortable/ vulnerable at times

Lets see if Amartey can prove he can establish himself in the right back role. I'm not convinced, but we'll see.

Totally relaxed about Amartey/Dragovic keeping Mane, Salah, Coutinho and Firmino at bay. Will be enjoyable to observe. ?

Doesn't sound too promising - let's hope we can get JV , Gray and Riyadh on the ball enough against their shite defence

Ffs... your ‘beast’ is gonna get some game time. Let’s hope it’s not more than a few mins this time.

col... let's see how he does in the next few games.  Last season, when he was in midfield, he grew into to it ...so that he was starting to be assertive by afcon.  This may be a similar opportunity.  He is young and he needs confidence... let's be positive and hold off till this period is through .  Then we will know if we need alternative cover at rb.

This is his chance. No doubt, all the 'I told you so's' will be spaffing if he does well.

I hope he does. I'm a Leicester fan and want to see us win. That's my agenda.

I am not sure about him if we want to be top 6... but he has time.  If he does great i will be pleased and if the price is listening to his supports then i will be happy to take it.

I sit in front of a guy who loves king... he spends every game saying they need to bring andy on.  Now i respect king and all he does but he's not in my starting team.... but if he does play and does do well just i have to put up with the ravings from behind!

At least 25

We've had a finished Wasilewski and Amartey as RB cover for two or three years, we deserve everything that happens as result of Simpson's injury.

Must be the jet-lag.

i think simpson getting injured is a blessing, yes he is a solid player but i dont rate him, he provides nothing in attack and he is always miles away from his attacker, hope we sign some one of quality and he remains on the bench.

As usual, this argument about Amartey having 'a lack of experience' is utter crap.

He's played, on and off, in various positions in a Premiership side for what? 2 seasons now?

He's hardly a rookie. Add to that being skipper of his international side and I'm pretty sure, played in the Champs league for Copenhagen?

I swear, half the time when I write about Amartey, it actually isn't about him, it's to point out some of the sheer nonsense that gets written about him.

Inexperienced, my arse!

lol

this is pretty much the same

No it isn't.

Comparing a player who has a tendency of going missing in games when he's on the pitch to a player who's only featured partially and that in a position which isn't really his isn't "pretty much the same".

Besides, I still have somewhat higher standards for King than I have for Amartey, with the time spent at the club and being six years older and whatnot. I wish King would start to take football more seriously again instead of jogging along nicely.

And you will be spaffing if he doesn't  . Personally, I hope he does well for the teams sake (assuming he gets the game)

So do I. If he plays I hope he plays great. I’m a City fan.

I’ll comment if he’s good and comment if he’s bad. As always.

This statement is so right. Most of us have seen this coming why haven't 3 managers the DoF and the recruitment team. If I was the owner I'd be asking serious questions of some of these people.

Each player should be decent in four different positions so if my math is correct......4000?

Puel hasn’t had a transfer window yet so it’s unfair to criticise him for the issue, Shakespeare, Ranieri, Rudkin et al are at fault though
