Definitely looking for a new puppy.

I'd like an Akita or a Shar Pei, bit the Mrs won't let me.

Looks like we can agree on a Wiermaraner.

I really wanted to call it Shinji Dogazaki, but again, she won't let me.

I am allowed to name it Youri though.

Full name is definitely going to be Youri Wag-Your-Tailmans lol

Youri is a good compromise until he moves to Liverpool and you’ll regret the day you named him. Ours is called Nigel.

We've spotted this beautiful girl looking for a new home and fallen in love! We haven't met her yet, and have no idea what breed she is, but we couldn't resist

We collect her a week on Sunday from the rescue shelter, and we're going to name her Millie FB_IMG_1632236371845.thumb.jpg.75e1d27087e36ee3a3873fd4749d8c9d.jpg

Google Lens is telling us she's probably at least part Dutch Tulip Dog! We'd never heard of them, but they sound like the ideal dog if she is

I’ll trade you for either Dudley or Baxter…. They’re gorgeous but thick as mince!

We are going to rescue a Yorkshire terrier who was mistreated by travellers. Apparently was full of fleas and needed minor surgery and dentistry work when they handed him over.

The plan was to have him for 4/5 weekends to see if it worked on both sides with a view to collecting him at Oct half term permanently. It broke our hearts to leave/hand back on Sunday as he has slotted in to our family so we've took the the decision to collect and keep him this coming weekend.

We know there is a lot of training and hard work ahead as he doesn't know any commands or what to do with a dog toy, correction, didnt know!

First weekend he cowered when you put your hand down to stroke him but doesn't now so that's progress already for me.

Sorry for going on just a tad excited :scarf:

Great post ! ..  I have huge admiration for what you have done and huge hate for the previous ‘owners’ in equal measure ..  we’ll done you !    :appl:

Our Springer has a ruptured anal gland :(

Poor little thing has more arseholes than Old Trafford at the minute. Round of antibiotics and painkillers will hopefully sort her out within a week.

Really sorry to hear that, but this made me laugh out loud, a lot! :D

Looking for some advice.

My mums got a show cocker she got last year (it's from a show breeder who usually keeps them but decided to get rid of him because he hadn't been socialised at shows due to covid) when he was around 14 months old. He's an absolutely cracking dog and perfect in every way except he gets unbelievable separation anxiety, to the point its ruining my mums ability to get out and do things. Does anyone have any experience and how did they solve it? She's tried multiple things and speaking to behaviouralists but wanted to know if anyone here knew of anything else.

Here he is with some pals

Yes we had this with my dog.

When we got him as a pup, I was self employed and I took him work with me for the first couple of years. Then things went a bit belly up and I needed to go PAYE and it wasn’t possible to take him.

He would howl (annoying the neighbours) and be in a right state when we returned.

We tried many things with little to no affect, the thing that worked was yucalm. He doesn’t need it anymore. Once we broke the cycle he was fine.

Years of pulling our hair out and letters from the council etc.

Dog came back from his residential stay, I’ve been away, with a bad stomach.

Sit down to play guitar on Monday and to my delight I’ve stood in a sloppy turd, he’s literally managed to shit on about 80% of the spare bedroom carpet.

Turns out I can actually smell shit after having Covid.
