Vindaloo FOX Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 good move for him and the club. hope he bangs in a few goals and his value goes up. all the best Slim !!!
oadby.fox Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 Despite having way too many strikers sitting around and doing nothing before, it does feel as if we could be a bit thin on the ground now. With Slim heading to Newcastle it feels as though we only really have Vardy and Oka, with a bit of an unproven in Kelechi. Maybe Puel is thinking of giving him more game time? Still - we would only be an injury away from a mess and especially if Mahrez was to also leave.
mancunianfox Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 At least we will have to play strong teams in the cup now!!!
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 Few of the boys in the dressing room will be pleased about this.....

Just been told fee is already agreed for a summer deal to newcastle. So it won't mater if he bags none or fifty goals.

MC Prussian Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 (edited) Talksport reckons Newcastle are stumping up a part of the full transfer fee now and then take him on on a permanent transfer in the summer, paying the remaining sum then. It's a great deal for Newcastle who are in dire need of a good, tall striker up front. It gives Slimani much-needed time on the pitch and we save some money on his wages for the time being and are in parts re-imbursed for the somewhat inflated transfer fee we had to pay. Does it leave us short up front? Vardy with Okazaki, complemented by Iheanacho and Diabaté. I don't think we're overly lacking in that department. We should be fine. Main concern is Mahrez and his creativity, which could make all the difference and give us the boost in order to finish 7th (or even overtake Arsenal). Edited 31 January 2018 by MC Prussian
Liam0308 Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 Mahrez wont be going til the summer. No new striker incoming. We loan out 3 players, 2 of which dont play and suddenly people are panicking?
RonnieTodger Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 Surprised, we've let 3 go, but this can only be good news for Iheanacho. Big boots to fill if Vardy gets injured.
onekeithweller Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 Leaves us short of players that wave their arms about. 2

Ian Nacho Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 Leaves us a little short on strikers in all honesty. Suppose if really needed Gray can play up front.
Guest Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 So you spend all season telling us how shit Ulloa, Musa and Slimani are and when they are loaned out (not even sold) you worry that we don't have enough. If they're shit it doesn't matter - best that they are gone.

Koke Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 We play with 1 striker and we have Vardy, Iheanacho and Okazaki who can play there. Moving Ulloa, Musa and Slimani on is not bad. 1

Koke Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 Ihenacho is a much better footballer than Slimani. Better touch, quicker, more intelligent. If Vardy gets injured I feel more comfortable with Ihenacho playing than Slimani.
Cincinnati Fox Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 The thought of shinji playing the vardy role?? tight squads always a happy place so no problem with these loans even if Mahrez goes.

SuperMike Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 Wow. This means that FOUR of our one-time-record signings are out on loan! Not sure if this is a good thing or not - but want them all to do really well, score plenty of goals and enhance their value for when they get permanent transfers. Also very poor indictment of recruitment policy summer 2016. Reckon we'll do just fine without them!
