Did you just forget what happened between summer transfer window closing and now? Mahrez didn't sulk

He think he's referencing the entire season he sulked prior to that. Let's not forget the past else we will be doomed to repeat it.

I’ll say well done when its warranted. If he goes back to sulk mode and eventually moves for less than we’ve been offered today then I’m aftaid they’ve dropped one. Time will tell.

If Mahrez doesn't get to play in Europe next season, it may well boil down to the fact that he threw a strop and went AWOL for tis Everton game....prize cnut

If Marhez doesn't like it how about 2.5 years not playing and getting fined when you don't turn up on time and effectively ruin your career? What must his team mates think of him. One AOL a mistake, two shows lack of class and respect for his team, manager and owners. Selfish spoiled little brat.

This in a nutshell !!

he cost 400k and his wages are worth around 15 mill for the duration of his contract.

Make him train with the youth team and never go near first team again except to sweep the locker room out

Id say well done to the Thai's on their principles, but then again its also their money not mine, and if they dont ever get an equivalent offer again for him, itll be their loss not mine too.

Well done to the club. At the end of the day Man City ought to have known that £55m was not enough in the last hours of the transfer window. If they really wanted him they ought to have come in with at least £75m, which I believe he is worth in the current market.

As for Riyad, as a fan this is the first time I have felt angry with him because he played hardball with our club and might well have cost us points tonight.

Objectively though I suspect he will get on with it and keep performing because he has little alternative moving forward. Today’s shenanigans was all game playing under the ‘strategic’ influence of his agent no doubt. They tried to leverage with all the tools they had, but ultimately they didn’t hold the power. Mahrez is not Leicester like we the fans are. He’s a careerist at the end of the day. As we would be too in his position.

I expect the team will bring him into line too.

Since the Kante debacle seems the owners are keen to show we won't be messed around. Clubs will know not to piss around with low-ball offers because we aren't going to entertain them.

Still can't see Mahrez being worth less than £55m in the summer anyway

Very tough situation. For what we paid for him and for what he has done for our club, 65 million is a huge amount. Especially now the player does not want to be here. I would have sold for anything around 70 million. We have Gray and this would have gave him 15 games roughly to show his talent and give him a proper run in the side.  We keep the squad harmony together as do not have to deal with a player who does not want to be here. Sold Mahrez and we have Gray, Diabete and Barnes. We can only finish lowest possible about 9th placed, and highest 7th really. He has showed he does not want to be here for two transfer windows, and that is a good amount of money to take. Puel, is known for giving youth a chance and this would have been a good time to do that.

Yes well done the owners on this one.

I do feel sorry for Mahrez, as I did in the last window, but this is not how you do things. To be fair he knuckled down rather than refusing to train, or do things like a lot of other players would do. But I don't think he can be that upset when the club don't want to sell him with two days left in the window. Van Dijk went for 75M and Mahrez is the better player. The owners did the right thing.

He'll definitely go in the summer and the question is what he will be like when he gets back on the pitch. It would be nice to say farewell to each other with an FA Cup trophy.

He really can't afford to sulk. He's walking a fine line and the whole of world football is watching him. This is a growing up moment for him and his future hangs in the balance of how he responds. There really is only two ways for him to respond...act like a baby and lose the respect of most everyone and watch his worth slide or be a man and use this as motivation to up his game, his attitude and his worth and gain the respect of everyone.

I really hope he chooses the latter.

Kept Mahrez.

Loaned out Ulloa to a Premier League club.

Loaned out Slimani to a Premier League club.

Loaned out King to a Premier League club.

Brought in two promising youngsters, one gone on loan to OH Leuven, the other a great homegrown talent which we beat Everton to it.

Rejoice.

RUDKIN NOT OUT!

I think we've done really well by addressing many of our squad problems right on time.

Now, let's focus on finding that Mahrez replacement in the summer, solve our striker situation and bring in two new full-backs (one for either side), please.

Yes, let’s relegate to the reserves and not let him play first team football at total loss of about 100 million pounds. That’s productive.

I’m sure promising young players looking to progress their career will look at us and think that’s the place I want to play my football.

Is it safe to say that I'm not the only one who has no clue what you're on about with that post? :D

I'm with the Owners all the way and they've gone up even higher in my estimation.

Maybe now the other clubs will get the message that we won't be bullied or pushed around. Our top Players are not for sale period.
