Fantastic stuff , I really feared in September that we might struggle to get to that 40 point mark by the month of May ! Now we have reached this point in March we need to start to kick on again , the players cannot be let rest on laurels now and cannot be let start their summer early.

For me the owners need to get in that dressing room and congratulate the lads on reaching 40 points but lay down a marker to them all that the season is not over , we want a cup final and we want a top 8 finish , ensure everyone knows that there will be further investment on new players this summer and remind them that everyone is playing for their future.

Hopefully now we can give the manager a little bit more support and a lot less negativity , yes he isn’t perfect but he has done very very well and look at Southampton now ! he deserves a couple of transfer windows to see if he can get this team purring properly again and knocking on that top 6 door next season.

feeling very positive this afternoon

It's an important milestone and we should congratulate the team and manager for hitting the target in a decent time frame. Great to know we'll be in the league again next year. :scarf:

That said, we have dropped a lot of points recently and honestly feel we should be on 50 points right now instead of 40! Palace, Watford, Everton, Stoke (both games), Bournemouth were all games we should have gotten more from.

So frustrating that we could easily be 6th though were it not for some poor home performances. Wasn't that an issue with Puel at Southampton in that they were better away from home?

What do you suggest?

Achieving 40 points at this stage of the season is good, but we should be aiming for much higher than just mere survival.

We are 8th mate , how much higher do you want this season ? , this is just fans being relieved,  if you have followed this club for 30 plus years its hard not to celebrate surviving in top flight

I don't think we will get 7th but won't finish much lower than 10th.

Today is just a BIG 3 points after some dismal offerings.

I would have taken top 10 and quarter final of FA Cup start of season

I’m glad this milestone has passed without much fanfare, we don’t want players thinking “job done” we want them to push on, next week we have a chance of reaching the SF of the FA Cup that should be the focus not 40 points

Congratulations happen at the end of the season. We’ve got so much more to achieve still this season. No room for high fives or back slapping. Keep focused.

We'd all have taken top half and quarter finals of both cups, at the start of the season and especially when Shakey was sacked. Like everyone else I'd love us to push for 6th or 7th and beat Chelsea, but being realistic, this has gone from a potentially disastrous season to a very comfortable one.

Thanks to a zany yet fantastic manager, if it was just a bounce thing we would be where West Ham are facing now , it’s isnt he is doing a great job

Could have been relegated had he not been appointed. Get your point but easy to forget when he came in we would have taken survival. By no means perfect but he's earned a full summer and half a season after to get a proper judgement imo. It will be interesting to see his signings.

I personally don’t mind him pissing about with the team in the league until the end of the season. A really good chance for him to evaluate our whole squad going into his first proper season next year!

But I can see more people moaning if our teenagers give away goals and booing so, hey ho!

Nothing to be proud of, with such a talented and expensively assembled squad we should be setting our sights much higher than this.

Obviously I'm pleased we've got to 40 after our recent struggles, but this league season is a bit of a write off if we don't at least get into Europe by finishing 7th. Finishing behind Burnley would be acutely embarrassing for me considering they hadn't won in 3 months prior to last week.

I was for appointing Shakey, but concede now this was a terrible mistake. I'm intrigued by what Puel intends to do here but wouldn't be surprised if he got the boot at the end of the season if we tail off and go out of the cup.

We'd deserve everything coming our way if we sacked Puel before next season.

I agree, a lot of question marks over how he gets us playing at home. Hope he will improve this with time.... Still, on topic, the OP is right, as Leicester fans we should celebrate being clear of relegation, winning the PL doesn't change our history of being a yoyo team.

I have No expectations of entitlement.  The squad earns over 38 Games, the Position

they Finish on. Football is a mystery Tour, nothing can be panned Out,the enjoyment is the

variants of the Journey....,dead-ends,clear Roads, twists and turns.

Expectation  isn't Ambition,but arrogance.

Hacking Off crucifying people, because of ones own frustration,is egoistic and boring..

Critic/praise on  Individual Performances,is fair banter, which always leads to contradiction

Statistics are for Football, the total inadequate ,uneffiecient waste of any fore/ afterthought

Process.A spectrum of opinions, that refract themselves through a dispersive prism.

Watching forest and derby clogging the shite out of each other in the championship yesterday did make me feel a bit better about 8th in the premier league...

With some outrageous coin throwing from the Notts fans, apparently, all nicely ignored by their stewards.

I'm sure they collected the coins after the game. Every little helps..
