I agree.

Vardy/nacho leading the line.

Albrighton/gray/Diabate fighting out for LW.

Okazaki/maddison/Barnes in the 10 role

For the RW,I think we need two. Roberts I think will be one and then someone a little more seasoned.

I agree with the target man idea bit reckon it will be tricky getting someone who would come knowing they are a special teams player, in essence.

We need someone like Ulloa in his prime. Just someone who when we are struggling to break through a defence, we can chuck on for 25mins and send some crosses into the box.

You look at someone like Glenn Murray last year and his 12 goals. There is still something to be said for having an old fashioned striker like that, who uses height and strength to make a real impact.

If we could pick someone with with those type of qualities, in the Ulloa/Murray mold (but younger!), then I think that would be a fantastic option to have in the squad.

Agreed though, will be tricky to convince someone to come here just to be the "Super Sub" we want. The big clubs do it though and if we want to try and compete with them eventually, it's something we should start getting good at too.

I still think Vardy struggles to play in a 2 and is at his best when leading the line alone and so free to roam the whole width without impeding someone alongside him.

I think Iheanacho will be a long-term replacement in that role but hopefully will still get enough game time as back-up for Vardy but also back-up in a no.10 role

I'd like to see this:

-------------------------------Kasper------------------------------

Pereira----------Maguire------------Evans----------Chilwell

-------------------------Silva--------N'didi-------------------------

---New Signing----------Maddison--------Diabate or Gray

--------------------------------Vardy--------------------------------

We may still be looking to improve the starting 11 with signings so this could change of course.

I wouldn't be against another CM and I do think we need another striker with different qualities, such as heading/Hold up play

This is the way I see it too.

I have seen lots of "do you think we'll line up like this" type posts with a back three or some other variation and it amazes me that after nearly a full season, so many people still don't understand that Puel's preferred line up is 4-2-3-1

That was the one particular thing in that video that absolutely infuriated me, I can’t abide these nonsense things, like the silly thumb sucking goal celebrations. It just provokes violent thoughts doesn’t it!

i think its a generational thing. Something tells me it was a few years since you were a good-looking, confident 21 year old lad.

Please tell me you’re joking.

Anyone who’s bothered by an innocuous celebration from a young man who’s paid to “play” can remind himself that James Maddison just scored a goal for Leicester City Football Club.

I’d love to see this vs ManUtd,

                Kasper

pereira evans maguire chilwell

            Silva   Ndidi

Roberts    Maddison  Diabate

                 Vardy

i think realistically Roberts will probably be coming here if Riyad goes, but replacing Roberts with gray if he doesnt come.

The devil is in the details... "no signings this week" one hour later after loads of Evans reports on twitter "Evans will sign".

You quoted me and then deleted it?

Assuming Mahrez has left. Will be interesting relying on creativity of our youngsters.

He’s already had 2 medicals in the last week or 2 with us.

This is the final part they were waiting to do presumably something to do with the injury.

Terms were agreed with all party’s a while back , press just guess with most transfers it’s seems and took them a while to catch up.

Do you know if Eduardo Macià is still here?

I was disappointed with him last season, but I still see him getting game time on either wing, mainly as cover.

I think he would be a great option from the bench when defending a lead and struggling with attacks down one side.

Also a decent option if we do sign a "Big Lump" no.9 to come on and win some headers in the box. Albrighton still has that ability to pepper the box with crosses.

I have always been such an advocate for him as he never seemed to get the recognition he deserved, but I thought he really struggled for a lot of last season. Not sure what quite went wrong...

He seems to go through hot and cold spells, but last season was a particularly long cold one. I certainly still see the value he brings to the squad though and you know you will always get 100% effort and hard work from him.

New signing, Gray, Diabate and Albrighton competing for 2 starting spots should make us competitive. Obviously Gray has to finally have his break through season and Diabate needs to continue on his early signs on promise. A lot will depend on who we are lining up to replace Mahrez though. I'd be surprised if it's just Roberts coming in. We need to go after someone like Thorgan Hazard or similar to that level.

It's huge money for a championship player, more so when you consider he's basically had one good season. There are no guarantees his ability at that level will translate to the premier league, so it's a big risk IMO. But, he does look supremely talented.

So hope you’re right. I just come back to that old chestnut of stater vs mediocrity in depth. Right now, I’m just not convinced he is enough of a step forward to confidently be regarded as a starter / improvement. In which case he’ll go backwards. And that’s a vicious cycle.  Time will tell. He’s young enough to make rapid progress, still. He may not need to - I may have just seen poor games or be a terrible judge of a player!

Where would he have gone? West Ham have a new DOF.
