Mahrez certainly offers more in terms of goals and assists.

I've stated several times my opinion of mahrez as one of the best 10 city players I've seen in many years of following city but as an complete player hazard has the edge in my humble opinion.

I agree that Hazard is a better player, but it's definitely debatable. Both are top level wingers that would improve most sides in the world.

Somethings smells here, no way our owners have rolled over and just gave in for £50 million when they wanted £80 in January.

It is not their style...

The drop seems way to much, I think he will go for £65 Million plus the player.

He was promised the move for that amount and then prices went crazy.

We're back with the selling your house analogy again.

This would literally be the 4th most expensive transfer in English football history.

This season Mahrez has the same goals and more assists. Every other aspect of the game such as successful take on's, key passes, pass completion, ground covered, defensive stats etc etc Hazard is better than him. He is way more of a threat than Mahrez. Not having a go at Riyad as Hazard is class but he is not better than him because he has a few more assists.

In a better team of course that stats are going to be higher in the main, because he gets more time and space, has more options etc. Hazard I think is a more consistent threat, but when Mahrez moves and gets that sort of space, we'll really see what he can do.

Also plays in a better team, in another system and with a bit more support than Riyad.

People just tend to forget how difficult it is for a winger to play with no help from the FB and a limited support from the SS. Mahrez has basically to do everything on his own and no matter wat the naysayers might think, he was the difference between a relegation battle and pushing for 7th.

Involved in 39 of our goals, scored or assisted vital ones. He was on a roll until january and head and shoulders above Hazard.

Since we'll likely never see Hazard playing for us, I'll wait for Mahrez at Man City or even Chelsea (if it happens) to pass judgement.

It's called inflation.

Doesn't make him the 4th best player.

Back to house price analogies again.

He's better than Pogba, should we demand £95m?

If you seriously think he's better than Pogba then why would you let him go for less?

well the papers are dishing up a hell of a lot of bull? in this window apparently Leicester have dropped the price of Mahrez For Man City to grab a bargain we might as well offer them Morgan as a buy one get one free deal For Fuchs sake !

If City sell Mahrez for less than the £80m they wanted for him in January then they certainly need their heads testing, and with reports of Roberts coming to us as artbof the deal they value him at £15m but of late he’s always out injured so we’ll have a typical Sturridge Carroll Welbeck situation having a player who’s on the physios table more times than on the pitch !!

Just a bit of a suck it and see moment to see how much we sell Mahrez for or will it be one of those undisclosed sales??

50M + 1 player is a very plausible option and we'll never get 80M for him. Not even 70M

Gotta say, I'd not be sniffy with that deal.

The main thing for me is that Mahrez wants out and we've pretty much held on to him against his will. We've little goodwill to play with and there's little patience left in him - so we're just not negotiating from a position of strength and I feel there's nothing to be gained anymore by playing hard ball. £50M plus a player is pretty much as good as it's going to get, give or take, I reckon.

£50m plus Roberts for me should be our floor. No lower should be considered and we should squeeze for more. Not fair to deny Riyad again, if that deal has been offered and Man City clearly won't move, then we should accept it. £50m will allow us to get 1 amazing player, or 2/3 good starters in. Will probably need to really spend big to fill the hole Mahrez will leave though.

It's not fair of man city to bid stupidly low just because he plays for us. But they are.

Weren't we offered £60m and Roberts in January and we wanted £80-90m in reddies? Surely bare minimum should be what they offered previously, I know we argued we had no time to replace properly so wanted much more money but this feels too low.

To be fair Roberts was injured at the time.
