£50m plus Roberts for me should be our floor. No lower should be considered and we should squeeze for more. Not fair to deny Riyad again, if that deal has been offered and Man City clearly won't move, then we should accept it. £50m will allow us to get 1 amazing player, or 2/3 good starters in. Will probably need to really spend big to fill the hole Mahrez will leave though.

As far as I'm aware.... that was the bid in January but we wanted £65 plus the player. Makes sense to me that any deal will likely be for around £55m and Roberts. They value him at £15m. That's £70m. Is he worth more? To us, he is but I'd take it and move on.

Roberts, Diabate, Albrighton, Gray and Shaqiri for the wings. Inheacho and Maddison for the No.10 role. Vardy and a target man to compete for no.9 spot.

That 55m would prob get us Madison, Shaqiri and a decent big man.

I'm going to be confused if we sign Maddison and Madison ;)

Hi Guys, Hope you don't mind me sticking my nose in , Man City fan here, and been having a read of this thread out of interest.

. Just thought I would correct the posters who think we paid £12 million for Roberts.

We paid £5 million up front with a further £6 million in addons, which have never been achieved. So its £5 million.

Whether, if you were buying him from Celtic he would be valued now at £15 million I cant say. I know the market has sky rocketed recently.

Hope you do well next season, except when you play us...regards.

Thanks for the clarification

If it’s sky rocketed so should Mahrez’s price mate!

he should be worth at least 80 million!

What if Roberts is a replacement for Gray and we are still after a replacement for Riyad?

Alan Nixon is a good source (despite working for the Sun). He said last week that Bournemouth would be back in again for Gray. I’d happily sell him for £25m

Hi

Would be interested to hear your views on Mahrez and of Man City fans generally toward him?

Congrats on the title by the way.  I'm just glad that Pep was not around in 15/16!

Then really you need to up the price as his time with Celtic is hardly convincing, why is he valued at £15 Million?

Yep I would be all over that, £75m plus a promising young winger for Mahrez and Gray is good money.

Foden + Roberts and 50 million for mahrez would do us nicely

Absolutely no chance they'd get rid of Foden permanently. Maybe worth a cheeky season long loan offer, but if we were to get Roberts, we'd ideally be looking at a marquee wide man who'd be a first choice option rather than stockpiling talented youngsters.

Given Diabates emergence should Roberts come in you have to question Grays future? In any event can't see any of these being "Riyads" replacement. Presume they will target a ready made quality addition with more experience than the 3 mentioned. Good luck to Mahrez, a huge compliment to LCFC that the best team in the land and one of Europe's best see our winger as a perfect fit. ?

Can Roberts play in the hole behind Vardy? Is he creative and unselfish enough to play that role? If so, that wouldn’t necessarily mean the demise of any of our other two young prospects in Diabate & Gray.

Saw quite a bit of him as I'm Scottish and il probaby say that out of those three, Diabate is probably best suited to play through the middle.

Thank you for answering that question for me. Having seen very little of him over the past season, I wasn’t sure if he had the right attributes to be able to play in the “No.10” role or even be retrained to play in that position given some time and support. Was he deployed in Celtic’s team as a typical European style attacking winger whereby he was instructed to cut inside on to his stronger foot as opposed to a more orthodox, run to the touchline and put a cross in sort of winger? Any insight would be great. Thanks again.
