somebum Posted 6 June 2018 Posted 6 June 2018 To think shaquiri has a 12m release clause and we end up going for andros. Wow 2
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 6 June 2018 Posted 6 June 2018 I think he would be an upgrade on MA but no the RM replacement we're after.

Wow Shaquiri is an arsefaced grumpyguts who only plays for himself. Want him nowhere near this club even if he does score a belter every half a season Edited 6 June 2018 by SpazticChicken 3
ARM1968 Posted 6 June 2018 Posted 6 June 2018 Shaqiri is a Hobbit. He should find himself a nice ring to finger, possibly his own, and stay away from us. 2
FoxinNotts Posted 6 June 2018 Posted 6 June 2018 Shaqiri always seems to score against us. I quite like him tbh

Sick of hearing hes no Mahrez shite. We all know that but we won't get another Mahrez if we spend £100m. Players like Mahrez won't come to us yes a 19/20 yr old but not the finished article. Stop fecking dreaming and just get over it. Also when did we start believing anything the DM prints? Has anyone even checked to see if the date is correct?
ARM1968 Posted 6 June 2018 Posted 6 June 2018 Agreed. Mahrez is a one off. Be a long time before another one appears in a Leicester shirt. Still a moody cvnt though.

If you watch his interview after the Stoke match, Puel beams about how good a player Shaqiri is. Surprised we’ve not been linked with him, especially with his release clause being so low
mozartfox Posted 6 June 2018 Posted 6 June 2018 Shaqiri’s fee might be low but his ‘Pie’ allowance would be massive. Stay clear.
STUHILL Posted 6 June 2018 Posted 6 June 2018 Unsure about Townsend and Shaqiri if I'm honest. Neither excite me that much. If I had to have one, It would be Shaqiri. He looks like he enjoys a pie though but has a very handy delivery. Prefer we spent more on a winger from abroad, which i know has risks, but the rewards could me much greater if we get it right!

I actually think shaquiri is a very good player and can do a job for us aswel. if he does have a release clause for 12.5mil then be daft not to sign him as he is worth double that especially if Townsend is going for 30 mill. He may come across lazy and miserable but he a massive upgrade on Gray at the moment, Gray is still learning but needs to hurry up and learn how to pass and his game will improve massively.

You're right about the price and perhaps a new challenge for him is exactly what he needs. At 26 he is entering his prime as a winger and I certainly wouldn't begrudge the signing. Just doesn't excite me like I hoped a Mahrez replacement would. Lets see what happens, but it does have a similar feel to it as the Evans deal and would be smart business by us for sure.
Gerard Posted 6 June 2018 Posted 6 June 2018 He's a decent PL player but no more than that and not suited to a club like ours who is hoping to push for regular top ten and European placed finishes especially at te £25m he was quoted at last season. I think we have a strong enough squad to take a chance on signing unproven but talented youngsters who could be anything rather than proven PL mediocrity. We already have players like Albrighton, Iborra, James, Simpson, etc who can do a job in this division rather than threaten the higher echelons. 1

He is good, but horribly inconsistent. My Stoke supporting pal calls him a MOTD player - guaranteed to produce a watchable highlight most games, but not actually to influence them that much. Then again, if you'd played with the donkeys at Stoke for the last two years wouldn't you be 'lazy and miserable'?! If I remember correctly, he went on record last season to the effect that it was hard to play with so little quality around him. I wouldn't be excited by us showing interest in him, but I could understand the rationale...he just might be outstanding if surrounded by better players.
