If this is included in Amazon Prime then happy days. The family watch loads of stuff on Prime and I order lots off stuff off Amazon with free next day delivery. Well worth £80 per year IMHO

Plus you get Amazon Music loads of free albums and tracks.

Forgot about that, my daughter uses it all the time. Can’t knock Amazon Prime, I think it’s great.

I’m sure the price will inevitably increase because of the football but even if it goes up to say £120 a year or £10 a month I’d still say it was good value.

So that's 3 companies you'd have to sign up to if you want to be sure of seeing all your team's games.

Thank you EU and PL

Just leave your armchair and get down your local boozer in front of a big screen, Davie.

You don't even have to drink intoxicating liquor. Pint of lime and soda for a quid, for each match - and you don't need to take out any subscriptions. :D

Just the principle of it with the fact that this in the eyes of the EU is a competitive market which it clearly isn't that I find annoying.

Not fussed about these new package deals, what is good news is Sky have the Saturday evening game slot back, BT have this at present, another I don’t pay for, so after our 3pm game I’ll be able to come home and watch the Sky Saturday evening game.

They are going to be showing the tennis as well. US Open this year and I believe next year a lot more events. This is just the start of Amazon's next plan for world domination...

I have Prime, but this still annoys me. Almost as much as the fact that it's possible to watch matches live in several countries abroad which aren't broadcast at all in this country.

You're only looking at it as a consumer. The clubs have the right to make as much money as they can for their product. The competing broadcasters is to their benefit.

Is there much difference between Amazon Music and Spotify?

I've got both. Amazon Music is very basic compared to Spotify. The latter has a better interface across all devices, the ability to share and follow playlists and some properly useful 'Discover' options which suggest new music to listen to, along with new releases from artists you listen to.

Quite right but the EU changed the 'rules' to protect consumers which it clearly doesn't.

From the consumer perspective it's 3 monopolies instead of one which is actually worse.

As for the broadcasters I'm not sure it's a massive benefit because it's driven up their costs the complete opposite of what competition should do because there isn't full competition.

I can only compare it to services like NBA League Pass and NFL Game Pass - both services I have and have had for years now. You pay your lump sum of £100+ or whatever and you get to watch any game, any time plus lots more content.

In other countries we have a premier league pass, it's just stupid we don't have something similar available here.

It’s ridiculous how far behind the Premier League and European football is with products like Game Pass.

It's nothing to do with being "behind"

The only way the PL can adopt such an approach is do away with top level Saturday 3pm kick offs as they are protected from Television broadcasting for the safety of every club with paying supporters in the lower/non league.

And I don't know if you've noticed but the Match going fans are already a bit miffed with the amount of moved games. lol

No need if you can get it on your phone.

Happy as Larry with this. I work full time but started OU last year (just finished first year) part time. I already have prime, and as im a student (albeit a mature one) my membership is only £39.99. happy days.

Because it's a foot in the door, next season they'll go for more games.

I'd have thought you'd be happy that you can actually see the games. It wasn't so long ago that if you didn't go to the match you'd be looking to see more than 90 minutes on the TV in a whole season.

Going to be honest, I wish they’d be less live games, it just seems a whole lot of disruption for those who actually attend the games and I feel their needs should be catered for before those who like to watch at home or in the pub. I think 7 Saturday 3pm kick offs would be better with 2 Sunday games and one flexible. Also stop playing the same teams on a Sunday. Granted European games would see the need to move some games to Sunday but not all.

One thing I do like though is all games on Boxing Day being shown which I assume  means we can choose who to watch, wouldn’t that be a better idea anyway going foward?

All the good pubs that show football are turning into pretentious gastro pubs that don't show football in my area.

Only if I fork out subscriptions to 3 different suppliers who in addition load up the cost by adding extras people may not want or via illegal streams.

Another nail in the coffin for Sky Sports, In particular.

It's sad that a tax-evading company is now getting involved in football.

Yep, that's pretty much Amazon's package plus another set of fixture midweek. The Amazon package isn't moving fixtures from their set kick-off times. It's Sky and BT's absolute passion to create more event TV for the masses (Friday/Saturday nights) at the complete disregard of the match going fan - but we knew that months ago. The press release is outlining the latest packages sold.

They've increased the number of matches they are showing.

It's simply not in their capabilities to apply for the packages being shown by Amazon/BT.
