                      Iborra

          Sturaro.          Ndidi

                       Silva

              Vardy.      Ihenacho

With the full backs getting up and down the flanks.

Silva is not a 10.

He’s made four appearances for the national team since 2016 . Surely he can’t be that shit?.

Italy is pretty shit at the moment.

£20 million for this chump is such a Leicester thing to do. Every year the transfer window comes along and someone must just decide to spunk many pound notes on some waste of space or other just for a laugh I reckon.

If we’re after a centre midfielder that we can afford to be a squad player and rotate, then we should go for Wilshere. He’s proven his fitness when he’s away from the hospital that is Arsenal (season at Bournemouth) and he’ll be free at the end of the month. He also has a good relationship with Vardy by all accounts.

I would take Wilshere but he did suffer a bad injury at Bournemouth and found it difficult to get into their team when he was fit again....

People are obsessed with the idea of playing him there but it's really not his position

Bring back Walsh

If he stays, I still think we can make good use of him next season. He really shone in a handful of games for us last season and he is always a threat from a set piece.

I imagine if he does stay, he will be 3rd or 4th choice CM and to have the quality on the bench will no doubt help us.

Price was on the high side but he certainly can still be a useful signing for us. I particular enjoyed how vocal he was right from the start and constantly trying to organise us.

We have to be realistic what 15million buys us in today's market.

I am realistic what £15m buys in the market.

Ndidi was £15m and what price now

Leon Bailey the same.

Even Real Madrid bought 20 year old Dani Ceballos the same time we bought Iborra for about the same price. He's flopped and played 198 mins last season and now they're selling him again for the price they paid.

If we let Iborra go to Levante this summer then he'll be going for about £3m tops and that will be a huge loss.

Iborra at £15m was always going to be terrible business, there was no upside to his value only a downside as we'll no doubt find out. I have absolutely no problem buying older players as not everyone in the team needs to be 21 but my gripe is we seriously overpaid and it was clearly obvious at the time. Everyone makes bad value buys but this was only ever going to be a bad value buy, we've literally given money away.

This thread... lol

Linked with foreign fancy dan from Juventus - "Oh wow, get him in"

Their fans slate him - "He's shit don't sign him"

Basically... nobody has a clue if he's any good or not.

Musa, mendy, Kapustka, Hernandez, slimani and Zieler. No thanks.

Not forgetting his recent efforts at Everton. lol

I've actually no problem with Hernandez, Kaputska and Zieler although all turned out to be poor.

Kaputska was a 19 year old Polish international with about a dozen caps. For the £5m we paid you would have expected to at least get our money back with that kind of profile although that probably won't be the case.

Hernandez was a Bosman and we sold him six months later for £1m or so.

Zieler was in the World Cup winning German squad and was the star performer at Stuttgart when they got relegated. You would have thought he would be a brilliant No2 but wasn't the case and we still got our money back.

Slimani, Musa and Mendy were terrible buys and you wonder how we ever decided to spend about £60m on that lot, it smacks of really lazy scouting.

It's hard to be enthusiastic about a signing that literally most of their fans are being negative about, doesn't scream optimism to me.

Mendy was a Ranieri signing. I don't believe Walsh can be blamed for him.
Musa was most definitely a Walsh signing so he can be blamed for that.
Slimani was possibly a Ranieri signing as well. The only proof I have for this was Pearson completely rubbishing the claim we were in for him a year earlier and no attempt made in the title winning season to go for him (whilst we did go for Niang, Musa, and Remy amongst others)....

Concerning Walsh's Everton signings, I would still take...
1, Gueye over Amartey, King or Mendy,
2. Schneiderlin over Choudhury and possibly Silva/Iborra (I am not saying he is better but I don't think he is any worse)
3. Walcott over Gray/Diabate.

Everton fans complain about how they signed too many number 10's and not enough 9's with Walsh but I think Koeman is to blame as much for that as Walsh (several of those signings were probably his or the boards aka Rooney coming back etc)

Did I miss something? He is going to Levante? (and for £3million?!) Doubt that very much.

I still think he will stay another season at least and I'd still suggest even at 31 next Summer, he will still have a market value of £5-6 million, which I think a number of teams would be willing to pay. He's had a very good career and hardly made a fool of himself whilst here and will likely be better next season too.

You can't look at every transfer deal in terms of money got back. There is also a huge value in what we get back in terms of on the pitch and Iborra has been far from a bad buy IMO. He should have actually played more games for us.

19 appearances/3 goals, in a team that was having big issues trying to transition styles. is certainly not a bad start here.

Out of interest what do you think would have been a fair fee for him? I'd say £8-10million, meaning we overspent by £5m. Hardly a disaster for our Billionaire owners

Think that's why we are going on Juve's opinions of him and they aren't good!

I'd guess he is slightly better than they are suggesting though and wouldn't begrudge this signing like some are

I'm talking about the flip in response on here as soon as people saw them, just highlights the reaction fancy sounding players from foreign leagues get on here.

Would take the Juve Twitter brigade with a pinch of salt personally. No it wouldn't be the most inspiring signing in the world by any means but he's a solid, hard working player who would definitely bolster our midfield.

Personally. I go the other way.  The heart sinks when I hear some Euro cast off I've never heard of being linked with us like Santos or this guy.

Much more excited by proven premiership quality like Evans and exciting prospects like Maddison.

This has an aura of us getting a £10m offer for Musa and rejecting it because we want more. Juventus fans couldn't be more disparaging which doesn't bode well at all.

True but most of the "Good/Great" players of the premier league era especially past 2000's have been foreign fancy named players.

Got the feeling Iborra hasn't settled to life in England that well. Let's face it, he was injured plenty of times too. Don't think Puel rates him that much. We need someone capable of playing 30 odd games straight if required. Intrigued by this potential signing.
