EnderbyFox Posted 25 June 2018 Posted 25 June 2018 Not sure how reliable the Source is... Everton also made a bid shockingly. I expect West Ham to bid in the next few days. http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2018/everton-leicester-have-reportedly-made-offers-for-montpellier-left-back-jerome-roussillon/ Quote Everton & Leicester have reportedly made offers for Montpellier left-back Jérôme Roussillon Paris United report that Premier League duo Everton and Leicester City have submitted offers for Montpellier left-back Jérôme Roussillon. Monaco, Fenerbahce and Sevilla are all also interested in the player, who would like a move to a club that can offer European football.
Gerard Posted 25 June 2018 Posted 25 June 2018 @MC Prussian will jizz his pants. He's been on this bandwagon for a while.

Yes, I've been promoting Roussillon for weeks now. Also supported by a French poster on here (@yks) . Roussillon is in his last year of his contract at Montpellier and was part of one of the toughest defenses in Ligue 1. As a wing-back, he's also very talented at supporting wingers up front. I'm sure he'd blossom under Puel. Btw, he's also from Sarcelles. Maybe he knows Riyad a little? Edited 25 June 2018 by MC Prussian 4

Outside a handful of clubs in Ligue One every player should be obtainable for us. He would provide some real competition for Chilwell and both can play left midfield which is always handy.

It would make the sense for it to be the latter in time for the start of the MLS season.

If we do switch to 3 at the back Fuchs played on the left side of the three on several occasions last season. He's clever and good on the ball it could work... even if it's just on a stand in basis I think he's worth keeping. Don't see him as a wing back though.
Tielemans63 Posted 25 June 2018 Posted 25 June 2018 Roussilllon, Plattenhardt, Lukaku - can we assume from the links that Fuchsy will be leaving for the MLS sooner rather than later?

Grebfromgrebland Posted 25 June 2018 Posted 25 June 2018 I think if we can replace Fuchs he'll be off. If we can't then he'll stick around for another year. 1

I always thinks Fuchs is woeful playing as a centre back. If this lad joins us then Fuchs won't play another minute for Leicester. 3
lgfualol Posted 25 June 2018 Posted 25 June 2018 I really think we will go 3 at the back (to fit Morgan in the team ofc). Fuchs hasnt got the legs for a wing back role, so would be back up for LCB I guess. Dont think he cares about playing anymore either.

Morgan isn't quick enough to play in the middle of a back 3 (who's job it is to cover the other CBs), he's not good enough on the ball to bring it out of defense and isn't comfortable being 1 V 1 in wide areas. Morgan won't play for us next season IMO, the only reason he's still here (like Simpson) is because they are refusing to go. Could well be that those two don't even make it onto the bench either. Besides, with the quality of our recruitments, he may only have to wait a year.

The middle mans job is not to cover the other 2! It’s to mark the CF! Also you say he’s not good enough at bringing the ball out of defence? Again this is not the middle CB mans job. That’s the LCB AND RCB role. Have you ever played football?

The middle CB's job is to be glued to the striker, leaving the other two defenders the space, time and opportunity to be a bit more adventurous. It's why Maguire looks so, so, so good for England.

Well Jonny Evans would be the middle man if we were to play a back 3. Did you not watch the England game? How many times did John stones have to cover for Maguire due to his lack of pace, a lot!

Then again in our great escape season we had Wasilewski at RCB and Huth in the middle of the back 3, therefore pace isn’t everything. Sorry to say but John Stones having to cover is more to do with Maguire making individual mistakes (positioning) than the personell/set up. Hopefully Maguire can grow into the role if we’re playing 3 at the back each game. I also think Maguire will be better off now he can play at RCB, as Evans will play LCB.

It was more 5 at the back in 14/15 and we were not set up to dominate the ball and impose ourselves on the game. Morgan defending on the half way line is a recipe for disaster.
