I cannot believe there is semi-serious speculation we could make a profit on Musa.

Incredible.

I'm just not having it. lol

The Mercury understands that while the move to take Musa to Al Nassr could go ahead, the £40m reported fee is an inflated figure, which possibly includes Musa's potential personal terms.

Even so, City could still receive close to £30m, which would see the club nearly double their money on a player they paid £16m for from CSKA Moscow to years ago.

I'd bet my house that the Mercury is way wide of the mark.

40m Saudi Riyal = £8m

My guess is the £40m widely reported was actually 40m Saudi Riyal. The Saudi's aren't daft, they'll know Leicester are willing sellers and aren't going to pay £30m when £10m will probably do. The whole media reporting on the fee makes absolutely no sense at all.

I'd be just glad to get some of the fringe players off the wage bill, freeing up money for new signings and improving the likes of Harry Maguire contract.

There's a decent chance you'll be homeless, then.

£8m is far, far too low, given the price we paid, his recent CSKA and WC form, Vardy's dodgy groin, the fact we've just sold a winger, and the fact that we're not desperate for money. If they had bid that amount, we would have laughed them out of the house, and the deal would not have gone anywhere near as close as it seems to be.

The Merc have clearly made enquiries to club contacts to clarify as they are reporting this figure as their own info, rather than the usual rehashing stuff from elsewhere as they did when the £40m rumours came out. Own Goal Nigeria have also reported £30m from their own info and they are usually better than most when it comes to Nigerian players.

We won't take less than £16m. I'm happy to put money on that if you're that keen.

We'll keep our money in our pockets but I hope you're right but I can't see it.  I don't think we'd turn down £8m on deadline day if it was the only offer on the table.

I'm not as confident as you with your assertions that the Mercury have clarified the fee with the club.

Sorry but I'm not with you on this. While I do think that 8M is far too low, we'll never sell him for 16M.

He's been stealing a living here and Puel doesn't rate him at all.

Out of all the fringe players we have he and Slim are the more likely to be out at the end of the window for about half the money we spent on them.

Has anyone considered the players wishes in this?

I take the whole thing with a huge pinch shovel of salt anyway, but having spent a year in Qatar, I would think that the harsh and very strict lifestyle is not for everyone.

Imagine being offered £40m and Musa turns the move down!

It’s about the only thing Puel has got right then - both absolutely rubbish

Musa initially turned down the chance to move to the Middle East but he was swayed into considering the offer when the club increased his wage to an amount that will possibly make him the highest paid African player.

Slim ain't though. He's the only one who never really got a chance.

Professional athletes get away with all kinds of privileges in Arab countries that normal people don't get.

Musa would be living the life of a king down there.

All welcome to different opinions - in my book he is shite and his attitude is rubbish.

Poor signing who was over priced and not  a better option than Ulloa for me especially when you throw in £30m....

all about opinions

not 21m quid better I agree but he is a better all round player than leo.  In addition, leo has no pace at all which makes a big difference in the PL.

So he is going to be on astronomical wages as well ... well worth it ? got themselves the African-Messi right there, wish we could have offered him more so he would stay though...

I have no doubt this will be an unpopular opinion, but I think there’s a good chance that there’s a decent player in there somewhere. He was derided here as having a poor first touch, not a footballer, competition winner, etc, after what seemed like only a handful of appearances for us at a time when there was apparently a lot going on in his life.

He has obviously struggled to make the transition to the PL, but occasionally showed glimpses of something better. In the WC he looked a different player, good first touch, pacey and even skilful.

If the club do not intend to buy another CF, then of the trinity of him, Ulloa and Slimani, I would keep him and sell the others unless we can get at least 20m, in which case we need to buy a replacement.

I think the things you listed impact why hr wasn't given a chance. In the prem everything is that step or so quicker

I'd personally sell for anything over £0 so if we get £40m let's spunk it on a ridiculous signing like Malcolm.

Whether he'd be decent in another league is irrelevant to us.

I love that it's apparently becoming 'a race'!

Galatasaray will join "the race" by preparing a loan offer.
