moore_94 Posted 28 July 2018 Posted 28 July 2018 Ahmed Musa in the 16/17 season only started 7 games in the league, and made 14 sub appearances. The most consistent run of starts in the league he got was 4 games, where he also scored 2 goals. So it is very easy to say he didn't get given a good chance. How can you expect a player to perform consistently well for us when he only gets to play 15 or 20 minutes every so often? Started 16 games in a row for CSKA (yes in a weaker league but still) and gets 7 goals. Easy to see that if he gets a chance at starting a regular amount of games, he could score goals for us. 2
Wolfox Posted 28 July 2018 Posted 28 July 2018 Was impressed today…. A bit of confidence off the back of a positive World Cup… We we need to shake up the default position of assuming he’s sh*t…. He’s not why not? 1

Edingleyfox Posted 28 July 2018 Posted 28 July 2018 Musa looks like a player that is full of confidence.I watched the Nigeria World cup games and he was a real handful. The same again today. He could easily go elsewhere and do very well on this form. I'm still not sure where he would fit in which was the problem before - perhaps on the left but Gray has also done well.I'm pretty sure the Vardy/Musa combination up front has failed in the past. Maddison I think needs to start somewhere he is pure class and Nacho made a point today with a good finish

Albrighton is locked in to be part of either the Starting XI or on the bench; Gray is in the same role. Need to have some competition there.

If we spaff away the transfer interest in him, it will be criminal. It's not like there are big clubs interested in Musa or even middle sized clubs. It's Saudi Arabia. Even the Chinese leagues are a step up. Take the 12m and get rid. 3

If we give him a chance now I hope he takes it. But I find this sort of excuse making extremely annoying. How can you expect a premier league club to 'give him a chance' when he was absolute garbage every time he was on the pitch? He was unable to execute simple controls, passes, dribbles or anything else. Literally useless apart from one game against Everton. He has as many chances as somebody like Gray and did less with them.
lcfc sheff Posted 28 July 2018 Posted 28 July 2018 I have no qualms with him staying, but if we get a few that is the same as what we got him for then I think it’s best we part ways

How is he meant to get used to playing with his team mates and playing against premier league players when he only gets 20 minutes or so here and there? Last season Gray featured in all but 3 Premier League games and only contributed to 5 goals. Why do we persist with him? 1

Would be happy to see both leave 1
Lesta2014 Posted 30 July 2018 Posted 30 July 2018 (edited) Play musa as an out and out striker and he will be a threat to the opposition. Wouldn’t mind us keeping but wouldn’t mind if he went and we made a profit on him. Edited 30 July 2018 by Lesta2014
les-tah Posted 30 July 2018 Posted 30 July 2018 (edited) In regards to musa and gray they both have talent and currently could be great impact players.. but we really need that player that will make the difference every game in the 11. we are literally one player away from a great 11. That player is that Mahrez replacement. Edited 30 July 2018 by les-tah 3

lcfc sheff Posted 30 July 2018 Posted 30 July 2018 Vardy iheanacho Musa and slim, in that order. I’m content with that going into this season. 1

Gerard Posted 30 July 2018 Author Posted 30 July 2018 If there are suitors and they're prepared to pay us the lion's share of our money back then get rid. Despite a few excellent assets he has as a player I've seen enough basic flaws in his game to know they'll never be rectified and we'll no doubt be kicking ourselves for looking a gift horse in the mouth. Just sell if we can and count ourselves lucky to pass him on with minimal financial damage.
HoustonFox Posted 30 July 2018 Posted 30 July 2018 Wouldn’t mind giving him more of a go to be honest, shows promise and he’s not exactly old (that we know of, hahah, Nigerian age joke). Great pass for Nacho’s goal on Saturday 1
ARM1968 Posted 30 July 2018 Posted 30 July 2018 Play him and he will terrify everyone in equal measure. 1
