Gerard Posted 5 August 2018 Posted 5 August 2018 It looks like Simpson, Slimani, Ulloa and King have been told to find another club after not being involved in the last few pre season games when half the U23 squad were. What is disconcerting is the English transfer window expires on Thursday and we haven't so much as heard a rumour about most of them. I see Waghorn looks like he's off to Middlesbrough and I'm amazed Ulloa is still here. He only turned 32 a couple of weeks a go and I think he'd get about 25 goals in a good Championship side. Big lump strikers historically do well in the Championship compared to skilful or pacey strikers. Ulloa is a massive threat in the air and is a very composed finisher who holds the ball up well, if I was the manager of a Championship side I'd be all over him. Slimani will be probably priced out the market but could be a deadline day buy if a club feels they need another striker and their preferred options come to a dead end. King and Simpson won't want to be here on the sidelines so they should have some options even if they aren't overly desirable. martyn Posted 5 August 2018 Posted 5 August 2018 (edited) Don't think Ulloa would get 25 goals in the Championship, more likely somewhere between 15-20 if match sharp I am a bit surprised that there does't appear to be any interest from play-off chasing sides, but then i suspect he'd have to take a significant wage cut.
