Big players in the game with regards to the game live commentaries in football, cricket etc.

Both offer different types and style of analysis here and there, and with different pundits etc invited by the channels.

Which, do you think, is better overall - in terms of value for money/quality?

I personally think Sky, but only just though, with them having been longer in the public view.

As you don't have a choice for specific games it really doesn't matter to me they are what they are pseudo monopolies.

Neither. All games to K.O at 3.00 on a Saturday.

Pretty much this. All TV companies are the same for me, don't prefer one over the other, they don't have fans in mind at all. Arsenal away on a Monday night another away ruined.

I voted Sky as they have better coverage but neither are great. Football is completely over-analysed nowadays and it doesn't help listening to the likes of Thierry Henry, McManaman and Robbie Savage who really are terrible.

I'd prefer more insight/opinion from journalists a bit like Sunday Supplement which'd liven it up a bit.

I never watch pre match post match pundits. They are all irritating twats, so I generally go on price. BT is better value and gets my vote. Although I still steal that.

It’s a real shame that BT have lost the rights to Serie A and a few other leagues too. That’s where they put out their best work. Really gutting Serie A has gone and the new option, Eleven Sports are providing terrible coverage in comparison.

Prefer BT personally because it's a bit more accessible for me; never been a Sky subscriber and the idea that one should pay £50 a month just to access one sport, of which only a fraction of the games are available is completely absurd when other countries have every game broadcast for live for much, much cheaper. Not interested in the punditry or personalities personally.

The next time the rights go up for grabs I really hope the Premier League start to understand how people actually want to access the product and get with the times.

Where have you got that price from? I pay £22 a month for the complete sky sports package with full HD 9 channels of sport.

If you are a sky customer you will get ripped off having bt sport. I think it’s over £30 and what do you get 1 English league game per week? Like someone above mentioned they have lost Serie A and they will also be losing all the ufc rights.

Is this another channel they expect people to subscribe for? I read that they are getting all the UFC right also.

They haven’t even got a TV channel yet. Simply a website at the moment. £5.99 per month but showing just 20 games of football per week.

That's on top of your Sky subscription

I pay just over £50/m on my Virgin Media contract and that comes with all Sky Sports channels (SD) and all BT Sport channels in HD...

I voted Sky before I actually read it to be honest. I watch Boxing, Rugby, Speedway and Cricket as well as Football.

Sky is obviously streets ahead in terms of coverage, but BT is great for variety and cheaper for me (and obviously has the Champions League). Sky just about edges it.

I seem to have lucked out in this given other people's monthly payments. I get Sky sports for £8 per month. Some deal that I got a year ago that runs until Jan 2019. There's also regular offers to get it half price for a year too (£18 pm I think).

The downside is it's with talktalk so my personal banking details have probably been sold on a few thousand times.

I don't have BT sports, though I've seen their coverage. Sky seem to do most sports better than most imo.

BT's coverage of Scottish football is really good- the pundits aren't afraid to have a go at clubs, managers, even each other, Chris Sutton is good value.

After today's coverage, my opinion of Sky has dropped. They seem to forget that teams outside the Top 6 exist and can play well, not just the big team being sh1t.

I enjoy watching BT a lot more last year, but they're all basically the same.

It isn't solely Sky, 5 Live were just as Man United-focused last night. They had a 5 minute preview of us with Craig Shakespeare, two minutes of which was discussing Mahrez.
