Welcome. Learn to expect heavy sarcasm on here, heavy-going on the pitch and a heavy-heart most Saturday afternoons! Anything above that is a bonus and you should celebrate as though you’ve won the lottery.

Be honest...Sarcasm is our most loyal 12th man..:P

All of our local rivals are, literally, not even in the same league as us.

If you want to know how sympathetic we all are, do a search for a thread in here called "My mate's the ref".

5 minutes into every match thread, there are people suggesting we are going down and the Manager should be sacked. Even in games we win.

We won the league a few years ago, in a roundabout sort of way of because some young players, including the then manager's son, filmed themselves humiliating a Thai prostitute with some particularly unsavoury stuff occurring around one of the lads' bumhole.  No, really.

Oh, and the password is Ormondroyd. Unless it's Worthington.

:)

Welcome :) I’d say it’s pronounced “Lester”. We’re the best of the rest in my opinion(best team outside the top 5/6 league places), well capable of beating almost anybody on our day.

Important things to know:

There used to be a guy who looked like George Michael, who came on at half time twice a year in a jeep, sang a song, proposed to his girlfriend and got knocked back.

The owner gives away one free beer per fan on his birthday, but you can lick the stamp off your hand and have more if you can be arsed.

During our title winning season, Robert Huth took the world's shittest free kick in a 3-0 victory against his old club Stoke.

That's about it.

The old ground (Filbert Street) was also known as Filbo.

It was "Pen 3".  Not "SK3".

Modern football is c r a p.

We hate Forest

The Baby Squad are not babies.

Wembley was our home 1992 to 2000.

We've been up and down more times than a whore's drawers.

We're never going to win the FA Cup (but we do win the League Cup lots of times).

Kante should've given us another year.

2016 was the greatest sporting year in the history of the Universe.

The team is filled wirh good players with a few high quality ones (Maguire, Vardy, Schmeichel). Any brilliant player we get is soon taken away from us (Mahrez, Kante.....Schlupp)

Most of our history consist of us bouncing up & down between  the top 2 divisions.

We are a slightly above average club. Not terribly boring we don't get many column inches in the newspapers either.

Gary Lineker (the opinionated fella on Twitter) is from Leicester and started his career here.

We don't have any rivals in the Premier League. We get hate from Tottenham Hotspur from time to time but generally we aren't thought of that often. Our nearest local game is Wolves. It used to be Stoke & West Brom but they just got relegated.

Many of our fans are bipolar

Too soon... ???

If Danny Murphy says anything about the club, just take it with a pinch of salt.

You can use the clappers that are put on the seats on matchdays to get your dog's attention in daily life.

Bernie stinks of piss

Oh and you quite often get Ill informed comments like this, Bernie is a life long Leicer fan who followed our great club home and away for over 50 years, somewhat of an institution, in later years sadly more for eccentric behaviour and poor appearance/hygiene  due to mental health issues. A true lifelong fan who really loves the club but will lose the rmagical memories due to dementia.

One of the greatest players in the club's history wore tights in cold weather.

Don't mention La Manga - particularly to new signing Johnny Evans...(too soon).

Big Bob Hazell, Steve Walsh and Marcin Wasilewski were rock hard centre backs.

Paul Dickov liked to antagonise people...

One of my favourite City goals...

 - until this happened...

I've decided to start following Leicester City and would like to be filled in on the current team, club history, chants, and anything else you all think I should know. Also, if someone could clear this ignorant Yank up about how Leicester is pronounced, that would be much appreciated.

First and foremost welcome. The more the merrier.

As a team we spent years wrestling with our neighbours, Derby & Nottingham Forest for local bragging rights eventually coming out on top in the late 90s thanks to Martin O’Neil (look him up) and his band of brothers led by the behemoth that was Matty Elliot.

For the early 2000s we fluctuated from distaster to semi success and ended up 2 leagues below the prem thanks to an alarmingly incompetent Bristolian Ian Holloway, who effectively special move finished the slide one manager called Peter Taylor started.

Several disasterous managerial appointments resulted in a disappointing but steady climb until Nigel (the ostrich) Pearson started the revolution and led us to success 2013/2014 season and we finally got into the premiership and stayed there.

I am sure the ensuing years are why you want to support us and I don’t need to labour the miraculous chain of events over our recent successful period.

We have NEVER won the FA Cup, Vardy is a god, Dennis Wise is a Tuesday (look up the expression and his story) and most of the posters on here squabble like a big family. At times we post stupid stuff but we learn to live with and forgive each other as, at the end of the day we have lived through all of this shit together.

Buckle in and enjoy the ride.

Oh and it’s pronounced Les-tah

We've never won the FA Cup. We've reached the final 4 times, the last in 1969. Some on here actually harbour the thought that one day we'll win it.

Yep. This season :scarf:
