Watched the game with a man u fan who did nothing but complain.

Told him at the start of the game that I've seen this game a million times before and it goes Leicester play pretty well but end up losing somehow.

But he still moaned at his side.

Where as I'm actually pretty pleased with what I saw, I reckon there's a pretty good team there.

Every year we all see it , and each year we all hope.

I've had to much cider.

Typical leicester. Much the same Sat with man Utd fan who moaned how crap they were. Reassured him they would still win. #sigh but positive signs

Again and again,we were playing against a world Class squad, who even when poor can turn it on

the Next second.

We are far From playing with pure Talent  like any of the  top 4,consistently. one offs yes....

We belong to the also Rans.We should therefore hold out critic on that Level.

Their Back 4, looked Quite good, spite media BS,their Holding Midfield far superior.

But they didnt create More, Penalties Were even only one given

This one game, shown that Puel will most likely get it right this season.

Unlike some,I agreed with those subs...Maddison had a Knock and was tiring.I want him

Fit AS possible for the 1st home game.

Too early to get on and  individuals back. Even we player Mord possesion football, this season/game

Shown we look Mord comfortable, few poor ball controlling mistakes, fewer, through some Int lost space.

Useless picking on single/individual mistakes  too early, we just see how we correct then, and who

or which players, are off  their own Teams pace.

Crossing...Chilwell will have a Mandate and targate to cross, others have a Mandate to compete, and

get on the End of those crosses, and Form both sides...Later technic to get out crossers to Land it

on a sixpence....No Team or normal player has yet perfected it. Not..Gibson,Weller,Glover,Guppy

Ronaldo or Beckham....We need to up the percentage, and there the coaching staff also have

a responsibilty...Most crosses are hit or miss,we need to give that % a better chance,1stly by getting

More of out players in the box, then see we have a stronger taller man,who can upset any Teams

Tall CBs....Its not as obvious as  it seems....Iborra coming through Form the back is one...

Vardy has the knack,Nacho has to harden up in that Area.

Maguire consistently attacking the Back post,From Every corner, through tactic wise, not always the

Tactics, through a guy on the Back post can pick up alot of overshot too long balls.....

Going to have to put this one behind us.

So frustrating because the game completely changed after the penalty (which was a pen.)

Did think we dominated the game and looked the better side for the majority of the 90 but then again, United may well have changed to sit back after their first goal and invite on the pressure.

Away at the top 6 are always free games though - don't expect to get any points and if you do it's a bonus! Thought we played well tonight on the whole, looks good for the season upcoming.

I wasn't too unhappy about the early Man U goal. Sometimes, when playing away, conceding early reduces the pressure that the opposition put on you.

Our problem was not equalising in the last 20 or 30 mins which may have set us up for the 3 points

What is it with this place that means you either have to be a raving pessimist or full of absolute optimism. I said it was nice to watch how we played (more purposeful than the dross last year), I said most teams will be similarly toothless at Old Trafford because it's tough against a Mourinho side, and said we have great potential. But ultimately, for all the pretty football, if I'd been a Man Utd I'd have felt pretty relaxed as we never really troubled them. It's just being objective.

Agree...

I can understand why he's coming from to be honest. I hate the sense of entitled that fans of certain football clubs have, but purists would argue that Man United shouldn't be parking the bus at home to Leicester. Though I think that's testament to how well we played at points during the game.

You weren't unhappy about an opposition team scoring against us? If we hadn't have conceded early, we may well have got ourselves into the game and got a point or three. I never want to see us concede.

Breaking down a Mourinho defence with 20 minutes to go away from home is almost impossible when they have their backs to the wall.

3-4-1-2 and we'll get top 6 this season.

On paper that formation suits us perfectly. Maguire thrived in back three at the world cup, Chilwell and Periera can both get forward without us over-comitting and we can have Maddison playing off two very capable strikers at this level.

Maddison looks like he is going to settle in the Prem quite comfortably. Perriera is a tidy player and does not give the ball away cheaply. Gray actually worked very hard on both sides of the ball. Inheacho lacks the pace to go by defenders at this level. Chilwell show promise but until he can pick a pass in the final third or deliver a decent cross, it all just window dressing. Vardy should have started that game and been pulled off on the hour rather than coming on with 30 mins to go. Armartey is turning into a bomb scare. Let’s get Soyuncu in the side pronto. Kasper looks sharp and motivated. Wes, well what to say, he managed to hide out most of the game. Silva, has to pick up his tempo or he’s  just not going to find the passing lanes he needs. NDidi looked a little off his usual pace.

On the United side, Fred looks nothing special at all for the cash they paid.  Rashford looked lost and Mata looked very ordinary and seems like he’s now lost a step. Someone should buy Pogba a skirt and makeup, he acts like a girl!!

I think united with struggle to make anything better than 4th this year.

As for our season, I think the signs are good, we are a young side and will get younger with Benkovic and Syunuco. Think Puel has the right idea and direction. Worried about Silva, we need him to step up. Can see us getting a lot better over the next month with Wes and Armartey potentially both out the starting eleven. I can see a real big case for us going 3-5-2 but Puel May just not be up for that. For me it’s a way to get Vardy and inheacho on the pitch at the same time which I think we have to do to have our best team.

My logic here was that I expected them to score a goal and I'd rather they score it early in the game than later.

Probably a precautionary measure more than anything. Been injured during the Lille friendly, so no point in risking his health any longer.

Better be fit for Wolves at home next week, that'll do nicely.

He was worn out, he isn't quite match fit as you suggest after that knock. He'll be ready for Wolves to go 90 minutes I expect.

When would you say they "turned it on" today? They managed a fluke goal and a gift penalty. They never managed sustained pressure like last season, as we can now actually string together a few passes and they can't pressure us. On the other hand, we pressured the crap out of them for large portions of the game. I'll be keen to see the return match at KP.

Enjoyed the game and disappointed not to get a point. Play like that away from home against lesser teams and we'll pick good points up for sure.

Can see why we're playing Ricardo further up the pitch and I'm happy about that just not that it means Amartey is first choice Rb. He looked poor at times tonight and I'm not including the penalty incident. Good sub of him before he went and got a red.

Maddison looked good. Iheanacho had odd half chance but feel we didn't give him desired service.

Optimistic for next week but need three points under the belt sooner rather than later.

At the game tonight, now at the airport. I thought it was a really decent performance. Lots more positives than negatives. Also working in France for the summer, and all the frenchies love puel. Give him and this team a chance!

Man U have better players than us and the quality shone through. They will be right up there competing for the title.

Mourinho is a defensively minded coach. No problem with that but he ain’t gonna last long there playing like that. With the quality Man U have got they should be opening teams up consistently

Should have started with Pereira, Simmo or Johnson at RB, Amartey is not a RB.

Thought taking off Maddison killed off our attacking threat somewhat too, despite the goal. Would have preferred to see a straight swap - Iheanacho for Vardy.

Lots of promise though, we dominated for spells. Bring on Wolves.

He's barely a fvcking footballer, tbf.

good loss...

Great example of the Puel way.

A settled back line will come

our youth is a joy to behold, im tipping top 4 and an FA cup in 20/21

hopefully we can play that way against the "lower" teams

We din't do too bad really, created a couple of chances and gave ones to a couple of new players tonight, two of which looked perfect additions into the team who should grow more confident as they get more games. Man U are also still Manchester United, they've been a mess in recent seasons but if they even slightly turn it on with players like Pogba n Snachez can still win big games in this division from time to time, all that though they didn't exactly dominate us.

We did show a couple, maybe three weak areas and I hope the signing of two centrebacks alludes to the known need to change the system at the back, we all saw how comfortable and dangerous Maguire looked at the World Cup and it isn't 100% the case here - If that can be solved by switching to 3 at the back or implementing a successor to Wes then get it done sooner rather than later. Also noted Wes losing the ball twice with real stray passes in the second half, one of them he didnt/couldnt really run back as fast as you'd hope - he's an absolute legend for us and I've loved his time here but we have to look to the future more serious. Amartey gave them a penalty, he shouldnt have felt under pressure in this situation and he messed something up for the whole team, a third min peno is exactly what Man U & Jose want, their dream scenario so gave the game straight to them, I've always seen potential in Amartey but besides physically there has been little improvement to his game - he's been here two and a half years and the only thing we seem to have ascertained is he's best at RB. Silva was sloppy aswell, not much different to last season, I really want him to turn it on against someone in a match so he can make an impact here because he seems too quiet, he's a classy player but we've not seen the best from him - thats all for complaints really.

quite stoned rn tbh lads

Kasper solid all game, can't be blaming him for not saving a penalty and although Shaw's goal looked close enough for him to grasp in was hit with good pace across with him concerned rightfully, with his near post. Maguire was solid, has a good influence and is a great presence going forwards, got caught out on one run forward the whole game, everything else great. Chilly got forwards plenty and in the second half very telling United targeted the right side of our defence rather than left, clicked with Gray & Maddison really well first half, all seem to be good mates aswell as being talented, hopefully they'll all blossom, Maddison looked superb first half, heaps of confidence for a 21 year old on his debut against ManU at Old Trafford, faded second half, hopefully his fitness gets better from beginning the season - also add how much of a **** Fred acted around Maddison, he stood on the latters ankle going in on a tackle plus a couple of sly digs for which eventually the Ref carded Fred, our new lad handled himself well through that. Ricardo Perriera was great, his versatile is a big attribute for the team and he was dangerous going forward and full of energy. Development of Iheanacho over the last year also continues, he looked dangerous in the first half, broke through a couple of times with his now improved strength really helping him bustle through their defence, it got very tight on him very quickly up front although he shouldve got two of his shots off earlier and maybe scored, he's definitely getting better. Subs had an impact, obviously Vardy the most but Ghezzel wasnt bad and Iborra didnt do anything wrong.

Looking forward to seeing how the team develops together over the next month or so, hopefully get a couple of decent wins and have some of the new lads make headlines, Want to see this new style of play shine through too, ethically shows the players have some confidence in whats happening as a team.

Slight concern with the lack of height/Ariel threat going forward, Inheanaco/Vardy would have played the same role so they are not to blame, not 100% our system worked tonight, definitely didn't play to Nacho's strengths. Massive HOWEVER, United parked the bus for 87 mins + added time, made it nearly impossible for us to get behind, doubt we will run into that sort of issue so severely again this season. Ricardo and Maddison, ****ing quality performances, to highlight a few.

Came away from the boozer with alongside some Utd fans with my head held high, with both of them agreeing we were the better side. TBF, it was the best loss  you can ask for, outplaying UTD and deserving to win at old Trafford.

Can I just get this confirmed... did any of our crosses bar the last corner which Kasper headered, actually hit a leicester player?

I cant remember one other than that.

It's not supposed to just 'hit' a Leicester player, we lacked height apart from Maguire and Morgan, the onus is more on us to go and meet a decent cross. TBF, i think that was our biggest flaw, we had no Ariel threat at all..

Played well. Unfortunate penalty but Madison v good dunno why he took him off.
