What’s all this on sky about pogba bossing it? He scored a penalty and did nothing else the whole game.

its Sky, he scored a penalty, you just know they were clutching at straws with it tbh, he didnt boss it at all, from what I remember be scored the penalty then moaned on and off about not getting fouls

at times youd think it was LCFC playing at home and Utd being away, and given the amount of noise from the Utd crowd last night it could have been a home match for us...

As last season plenty of possession little to show for it. Not convinced by Puel. Just like I said it would end in tears when Ranieri was appointed and I was proved right in the end.

Isn’t that the most obvious prediction ever? Even if you have lengthy success then eventually your manager retires, a’la SAF, it ends in tears. Or, you’re manager fails and the team are doing crap, like every other manager, eventually you get sacked....it ends in tears.

Well no. That's entirely the answer. Man's digging at the board for not letting him spend even more, despite Pogba and Lukaku I think being the two most expensive players in this division, which he's bought the last two summers

All true and I fully agree with you. He is still a weapons grade bellend though.

Very pleased with that performance. Plenty to look forward to this season. Get the new defenders settled in and we will be a very tight unit at the back. We played some very mature passing football and with a little more cutting edge up front could and should have got a draw.

Although a loss is never nice I saw enough last night to fill me with confidence that we will get even better and should be aiming for a top six spot. If we continue like that I shall personally be sending an apology to Puel.

One of the heartwarming facts about last nights game is that Man United are worse than last year and will be nowhere near the top three.

I was quick to slate Chilwell last season but I’ll give him his dues today, he was excellent apart from his crossing - which he has not improved on one bit, it’s awful. If he wants to become a top LB he needs to hit a team mate for a change.

If we had a player with Chilwell pace, Albrightons crossing ability and Mahrez skills we’d have some player ?

Most seem to think it was because he'd been booked and he and Fred were at it.

I thought he took a knock and wasn't moving well the last 10 minutes out there.

Fred should have been booked early in the game and off before half time. He must be a better player than he showed yesterday because he was the worst on the pitch.

Maddy does seem to have a tendency to retaliate after he's on the end of a few fouls. He needs to watch that. Best player on the pitch for both teams during the first half though.

looking back now at the performance now.......cant really grumble with it tbh, we played well for most of the match, most of the team look good and comfortable in possession, still room to improve though, Gray looks like he might well step up this season.........well hopefully,

personally think once Evans is fit he should come in for Morgan, the team even has potential for a 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 or something of the like once the Turkish lads work permit is sorted

certainly alot more positives than negatives to come from the game and you can actually see the direction Puel wants to take us, hopefully he'll be given time with it

Gray's defensive work last night was extraordinary given the abuse he gets for it. He was everywhere. He's the one we've got to hope steps up to the plate this season. I think in a free role with Maddison behind Vardy or Iheanacho will work.

Yeah. His defensive work was outstanding.  I thought he overall had a good first half but faded in the second.

I think the penny may have dropped with Gray. He realises he has to step up this season.

Sort of feels like the England - Croatia match. Beaten by the better team but you know if we had sorted our own mistakes out we could have won it.

Puel will be kicking himself for starting with Amartey. Not that I have much sympathy, the evidence has been there for years that he isn’t good enough to be a starter at this level.

Just watched the highlights and we played well with some decent football but Martin Tyler summed it up when he said that doesn’t mean anything at 2-0. We will be fine but I can see multiple games where we struggle to break teams down and we have no plan b.

Bottom of the league and 3 points from the last 5 league games, I really doubt Puel will be in position beyond October. Though, the new boys all seemed decent which is a change for us.

He needs to do it for a number of games in a row not just here and there. That’s always been his problem; when we need him usually in fixtures like next weekend he hasn’t delivered.

I was sat in my local. Thinking how proud I was to be the one of two in the place supporting the team in blue. Plus it does look good for the future. Every one of them looked up for it as well.

Wolves is a huge match. Fail to win and/or play badly and the storm clouds will start to gather.

Win and it’s a solid base to kick on from.

Yes, I said so as much a few weeks ago. The Puel era is so finely poised right now that he cannot afford a bad start, at worst he needs to be winning 2-3 out of the first 6 otherwise I can't see the fans or owners putting up with it. I fear this will hinder us.

Cannot see a reason for digging at Puel myself. Clearly much work has been done with quick passing, but more importantly in my opinion is movement. Quick passing is useless without accompanying movement, and we saw that too.

Promising I think, and despite Amartey misjudging the flight of the ball, wasn’t dreadful, not great, but not dreadful.

Great point the movement was extremely good, the players looked static last season but as you have pointed out there was some good movement and spaces opening up last night.

Thought Ricardo looked surprisingly good at RW - definitely somewhere he can be utilised against some of the bigger sides... just a shame he had to babysit Amartey for most of the game.

For me, last nights game was more about the performance than the result. We weren't expected to get a result away at Old Trafford when our two best players have had 3 days training. I saw more than enough to convince me that we're going to be fine.

Maddison is going to be in the England squad next summer. I love that he didn't get over awed and let that willy puller Fred intimidate him. It's a shame he came off because we weren't the same after that.

Chilwell, Gray, Ricardo, Maddison and Maguire were all so solid.
