Some of the lads need a few sessions in the gym. Outmuscled. Too lightweight.

They are a physically big and strong side compared to most but you have a point. Ihenacho is lightweight as is Gray, Chilwell. Silva, Maddison Ghezzel. They are athletic but no beasts.

OK so other than Vardy, where will our goals come from?

I can't see where the goals are gonna come from either. Hopefully Maddison, Ghezal and Gray will contribute.

Either that or we gotta hope our new back four are not gonna leak as many goals as last season.

Wait.... So am I right in thinking, that the 3 I mentioned you wouldn't class as world class? Make forget smoking something I think you've either completely lost the plot or you have some extremely high standards.... (I'm guessing it's the previous)

Sanchez has really looked world class at Man Utd, and De Gea showed how world class he was in the game against Portugal at the world cup.

No chances? De Gea made 2 very good saves and Vardy missed a great chance, as well as scoring. ManUre created little more than that. Their first goal was from a ridiculous error and the second after Shaw miscontrolled the ball but it fell very kindly for him. In general play we were superior by some distance in my view. Can't understand why Puel subbed Madison, though.

Agree with that. Maddison was our best player. De Gea made one very good save. Apart from that we did very little that was dangerous. The goal was very lucky. I’m not saying United were ace but we were unlucky.

Lots of positives for me... chillwell looked excellent first half... so did Gray... Ricardo crossing well... amartey didn’t do himself any favors at all though especially with 3 new defenders waiting for match fitness... I don’t actuakly think Iheanacho did much wrong at all but when the person returning is Vardy and he scores then there isn’t much hope for you really...Maddison looks an excellent acquisition.

encouraging display with stronger players to come into the starting line up.

Probably a precautionary measure more than anything. Been injured during the Lille friendly, so no point in risking his health any longer.

Better be fit for Wolves at home next week, that'll do nicely.

Plus he was on a card, and we did get a goal back. Thought Gezzal should have tracked back better for Shaws goal.

They also created little...We played good in away game at the most demanding stadium. To still a top

4 Team, filled with Mord Talent than we have. We Were at time the better moving team, but Lacked in

the final 3rd...They got their penalty we Were denied ou/ Nachos  clear cut penalty....we deserved a draw.

Puels style looks like it has a promising future, and tonight until next week thats all I care about.

Those who want to find the negative....I aint bovvvverreed, I aint fking bovered !! its the 1st game.

Stupid Sky could only, follow the manutd story....poor pathetic TV and reporting....

What is it with this place that means you either have to be a raving pessimist or full of absolute optimism. I said it was nice to watch how we played (more purposeful than the dross last year), I said most teams will be similarly toothless at Old Trafford because it's tough against a Mourinho side, and said we have great potential. But ultimately, for all the pretty football, if I'd been a Man Utd I'd have felt pretty relaxed as we never really troubled them. It's just being objective.

Encouraging display I thought. A shame we couldn’t create more opportunities, although the ones we had were pretty good. Chilwell I thought played very well. Decision making and finishing were our downfall tonight, but I felt like we were worth a point. Ricardo looks a good buy ?. On to Wolves :scarf:

First half maybe but he faded in the second and gave the ball away a few times. Ndidi and Chilwell were the stand out players for me.

Loads of positives, Possession wise.

Yet in the back of my tiny little brain, we still create next to ef all, the same as last season when we played your Swansea’s and Stokes and Bournemouth’s etc

The next 2 or 3 games will reveal all

"Didn't take our chances" wasn't the complaint mate. The complaint was that we created no chances, and we clearly did.

We had 8 shots. 4 on target 4 off. That’s 3 chances we didn’t take.

Clearly an imposter on this site. What are you like when we play badly. The score could've bern a 4 2 win with the rub of the green.

Unfortunately for your point of view, the game is about how good you are in the box at both ends. From a Man Utd point of view they did a number on us. A Pearson or Ranieri side would have taken a point with a cigar and a relaxed pint tonight.

Thought we were unlucky not to get anything out of that but no-ones surprised that emo Mourinho’s Utd would get a jammy win. On to Wolves.

Very unfortunate with that one. Lots of positives and hardly any negatives. Maddison looked very bright. He looks exactly what we’ve been crying out for. Pereira was also impressive. Against lesser sides, we should create a lot more chances. Brilliant to see Vardy back in the goals as well.

The only gripes I have is that Amartey does not look a right-back at all. Silva seemed a little slow on the ball. Also, at times the decision making and passing was not great. Although, that should improve as the season goes on.

Encouraging start but it’s important we beat Wolves now.

Despite my crap stream I liked what I saw quite a bit (barring the obvious mistakes). Actually we were decent (to say the least) for most of the 90 minutes manure were nothing special, they played with 12 men and our lads had brainfarts twice and gifted them 2 goals, that happens they gave us (de Gea) one too.

The new lads need to gel with the team, the old boys shake off the rust/return from holidays (mentally). Just iron out the bad things and there's a lot of positives to build on. Let's give Gazza & Rick more time before judging them.

I'm not arguing about us not taking chances... I'm just stating we created chances, go back and read the post I originally responded to. We're arguing for the same point here

Of course it does, it was a chance we created... Would be stupid to not include it wouldn't it?

But it's not really representative of the game is it? That's the point. As someone else said, when you're chasing a game for 90 minutes against a team happy to sit on their lead, these stats are likely to be a bit skewed. The Vardy goal in the 93rd minute at 2-0 does exactly the same. Take out the two Vardy chances when 2-0 down and realistically out of the game and you get 0.5 xG which seems about fair.

Really pleased with the performance. Morgan and Amartey were awful so the hope the new guys will be a significant step up. That United team are rotten. A few injuries will show them. Kasper poor for their second I thought.

Overall I think we look good. Bit worried we may create chances but not score.

Within a couple of weeks we will have a sharper squad with 3  centre halves ahead of Wes, enough in our locker to have a good season. Maddison looks a very good bit of business and even with our blue tinted glasses anyone who watched the game know Sky are more biased than MANUTD TV, fvcking embarrassing the sucking off of UTD and no mention of 2 very good penalty shouts for us. UTD conceded 9 goals at home last season and giving them a goal head start and their Scania tendencies was always going to leave a mountain to climb. More positives than negatives
